I dropped them like a bad habit years ago.
They are a complete joke to me.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Seems the shittier their music and playing get the more popular they become.

Can't really fault them for trying to stick to a working formula.

The working formula is the media. They push Metallica like some metal boy band. Our main rock station here WMMS 100.7 has a "Mandatory Metallica" thing..they been on constat rotation for years now. The spoon feed that shit like crazy..sheople will eat anything if they promote it..Disco, Grunge, Nu Metal, Rap Metal, Metallica Metal..

Metallica and Michael Jackson would be NOTHING without MTV!!!

wrong... Michael was HUGE 10 years before MTV even started... Jackson 5 was one of the biggest Motown groups and a huge influence to most of the 70's funk and soul bands

That's pretty fuckin' funny. They were playing sold out arena tours before ever airing the One vid and that was anything but in heavy rotation.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

They'd have been like Slayer. Putting the same crap to CD year after year, bashing whatever comes up to stay in "the know" and touring 'till the end of time.

Yeah but Slayer is still thrashin' hard ..and herniating many discs in necks along the way..

Metallicaa has been stuck in park for..well some debate more than 17 years..Since the Black albulm..which is the last Metallica cd I own..I dumped Load, ReLoad, and up..did I just say I dumped a Load..

..and they have alot of media support..that all you here on the radio in my parts..If I make a 15 minute errand, there WILL be a Metallica song on the radio..NEVER Slayer..Slayer don't even try to get on the Radio..their cover art, lyrical content and titles are testimony to that!

Now Megadeth did..Dave Mustaine has been in Metallica's shadow ever since he was put out..but I have and like all Megadeth cds except "Risk"..that was a mistake in efforts to get on radio..but they're doing fine now. I have the new Megadeth cd, it's cool. Something I haven't said about Metallica in years.

I shit you not, I saw Justin Timberlake introduce Lars on MTV as "the grandfather of metal" once.

I think without having Mustaine's material to get them off the ground Metallica would have been nothing more than a foot note in metal history as "the guys that fired Dave Mustaine".

Did Lars get an award to go with that title? Like, a "dick in a box"?

This just makes me sad. I'm a long time Metallica fan, always willing to give them benefit of the doubt. But I could only watch the first 30 seconds of that video. Terrible.
