That's because BB King won't play chords. I have seen him say it in more than one interview. He is ok by himself because there is never anyone else playing any leads, but pair him up with another guitarist and he won't play rhythm or a single backing chord at any point. He just keep blasting his little diddly lead thingys all over the place.
