  • New Symphony X

So I've had a few days to listent to the new album. I like it, a lot. It's heavier than their previous albums, dare I say even heavier than Odyssey.

My only complaint, what the fuck is up with the cd case? Not conducive to changing cds while driving.

My other complaint is the the Disney/Pixar Intro soundtrack..That cd starts on track 2!!!

Good disc, but nothing groundbreaking for them... saw the 1st show on this toiur and they ripped it up.
On a gear note, Romeo and LePond are both using Caparisons now...

I'm enjoying this one, and I'd been bored with Symphony X for a while.

It took me a few listens to really feel it out, but it is a little different than the other SX albums I like.

Saw them Friday and they were.......ON.

Russell is the BEST singer in Hard rock/Metal EVER and he proved it that night.
I'm diggin the new cd and I agree the new case is a PITA when driving.

He's AWESOME..get "The Battle" with him and Jorn Lande..There is two releases.."The Battle" and "The Revenge"..

                    Russel Allen / Jorn Lande..

Russel is KO'd in the 1st round in both fights!!

I've taled to Russel and he bowed down about the matter..they're both great..but Jorn is untouchable.

                    Dio would be better competion..

My 12 year old son and I are going to Atlanta to see Symphony X tonight as part of a birthday week celebration for me. This'll be his second concert, the first was G3.
REALLY looking forward to seeing them live, the new album is PHENOMENAL!

I really dig the new CD and if you get the limited edition version from FYE, there's a bonus disc that's got a bunch of live performance videos. It's all hand cam stuff but it's pretty cool as I've not been lucky enough to see them live.

As for Bill's recommendation about "The Battle" and "The Revenge": BUY THOSE DISCS RIGHT NOW!!! Do not pass "go", do not collect $200. Those discs are awesome! And if you dig Jorn Lande's vocals, check out the first two Masterplan CD's.
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

Man, I was so disappointed in the third Masterplan cd..don't even bother wasting your money on that turd..I did!

I love all Jorn's solo work..especially "Worldchanger" and "The Duke"..
