That's what I was trying to say, I meant the Monsters of Rock tour in 1998 and then VH followed up on their make up promise in 1991. I think there's youtube footage of the Dallas performance.

On Monsters, I think it went KC, Dokken, Metallica, Scorpions and then Van Halen. Not a shabby bill.

Yep. Sounds like a pretty solid performance.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

(There are a ton more videos from that show too, see below).

Love the One Way to Rock clip, so cool to see them all getting along and Ed sounding great.

I remember the first time I saw VH, walking into the arena and seeing Alex's drum kit sitting there with the four bass drums and you knew you were in for some kind of a show.

I'm out, to expensive for tickets.
The Indy show range from nose bleeds section of 155.00 to the floor 550+.
Don't get me wrong I love classic VH but thats ridiculous.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

Personally, I'm interpreting this as a punch straight in the crotch from VH. $200-$700 for this show! Holy Fuck! I paid the $175 for 4 Stars with Hagar. That was reasonable and a cool deal, but these prices are waaaaaaaaaaaay out of hand.

We all know that Dave is going to last 27 minutes with Eddie before he's hitchhiking his way back to Palookaville. Granted, one may considering VH '07 as the "Last Van Halen Tour". After this, the only guy left is Cherone and he ain't falling for the "banana in the tailpipe trick".

I've always considered Ed to be a "for the fans" type of Rock Star...$700 is a dick move. Maybe Dave set the price tag?

It's not Dave setting the price... it's EVH.
Dave's tagging along for the ride, you know he had very little to say about this tour.

Shake up the Magic 8 Ball there..cause "the answer is hazy". How many "David Lee Roth signature microphones" do you own vs How many signature EVH guitar things do you own? I must have or have had $20,000 worth of EVH guitards and gear...just like 65%of everybody else here.

Eddie's making cash and begatting (excellent) gear. Dave is on the ropes....."Please, I beg you to c'mon down and see us!" should have ended in " because I need more money to get into the Malaria wing at the assisted living facility". He's selling this "New-New Van Halen" thing pretty hard. There isn't anything new here. They haven't even done a new crappy "Up for Breakfast Song". It's all about cashing in some novelty before everyone that remembers him is dead.

I'll pay $700 to see VH with DLR just after I spend $25,000 for an EVH Franky.

                    NOT !

You're assuming Dave has any say in what goes on with this tour.
The the brother VH are some greedy son-of-a-bitches and knew that Roth's presence would = $$$.
I'm sure Dave negotiated a respectable contract rate, but you know he isn't calling any of the shots.

I saw the Monsters of Rock tour in Spokane at Albi Stadium. I still have my t-shirt from it...lol! While Van Hagar kicked ass, the Scorps kicked it harder. People around us all thought that the Scorps kicked VH's ass that night.

One funny point was when Metallica was up and this chubby photographer was in front of the drums taking a pic of Lars. Hammet was jamming out and he walked over to the photographer, hooked his shorts and yanked them down to his knees (underwear and all). The photographer pulled his pants up with one hand and gave Hammet a dirty look. He just laughed back at him. That was a laugh!

I only wore a pair of shorts into the staduim that day, but I had enough stash on me for our group of four to stay high all day and night. The security just gave me a once over and let me go. Not enough clothes to search...lol!

It ought to be interesting to see when the latest incarnation of VH melts down, and how it happens. You know it will. DLR was good in his day, and if he is smart he will build on that instead of reliving the past glory days. Frankly, I would not pay to see them until they actually accomplish something.

DLR is a great frontman, at least he talks enough to be one. In my band experience, the singer and lead players always seem to be the alpha dogs of the pack (and usually have egos to match). To them, everyone else in the band is optional. Fifth wheels, so to say. I think EVH started out as a great player who developed the ego as the years passed and the accolades rolled in. I think DLR has always had a big ego.

This won't be anything like the 'good old days' for VH. Still, I would like to be there when Eddie strangles Dave. Now that I would pay to see!

Holy Crap! I just checked Charlotte and it must be almost sold-out. There are only single seats left and it was sec. 227, row N, for $75 plus $13 "convienance" charge. Add in parking, and you're out $100 for a nosebleed seat. Although I guess it's still not as bad as tickets at other locations you guys are mentioning.

Im not wasting my cash on that show. I dont think this tour will make it the whole way. ED may be sober now but it wont last with him being around DLR. ED has called many people brother over the years and hes screwed them all. I wish them he best but I wont be spending that kind of money to see them play. I have seen VH and this aint VH. Its a we all need money tour.

This is true...he's just a tool. He's lost any ability to stand alone and the radio thing should he put the nail in his coffin. Ed's got to realize he's running out of options. He's all over the map these days and few people will have anything to do with him in a serious way. I'm sure many people will have him do a guest spot..but who wants to book a 150 city tour with him?

Dave knows his only trump card is to pull the plug but he would be shooting himself in the foot and it would riccochet into his crotch. That dude's wallet has got to be on EMPTY right now. He probably showed his belly with the only demand being the command some TALL cash. My rational for this? Dave is long since hit skid row and Van Halen didn't charge and Arm-and-an-asshole back in 2004 with Sammy.

My prediction..the only person left that will work with Ed in 6 months is Axel Rose (worlds biggest super prick).

Dave was like "this ain't the old Van Halen..this is something newer and bigger". Deju vu all over again. DLR reminds me of a guy that sold me my first car. Ever check you oil to find more anti-freeze than oil on the dipstick?

You know Dave would wear a clownsuit if Eddie told him too. He's only in on this until he no longer pleases Ed. Hopefully your city in on the front part of the list, rather than the later part. Something tells me Dave is going to wake up on the side of the road in Nebraska and relaize that he's been Mustaine'd

"Whooo? whaaa? Ughhhhh...where am I? Corn..stalk poking me in back? Mutha-fuckin-dutch-s.o.b....he did it again!"

Yeah, well my town isn't even ON the list, so I guess I won't be disappointed when it all crashes and burns. hehe.
