I got the absence "from your grave"..I have all four Anacrusis albums including the origianl "Suffering Hour"..if they didn't re-issue it that's worth 100-200 bucks..but I would never sell it..I love that shit and it's mine..so fuggums.

I don't think I have Aghora (or do I)..that's not ringing a bell in my collection..I have every Helstar cd and bootleg made..I loved the Andre Corbin years "A distant Thunder and Noferatu" are my faves..he was the shit man (on my list of fave players)..he totaly quit , like tim Calvert and became an accountant or some shit...those dudes were both sick!! James Rivera put out a band called Distant Thunder..very tradtional Helstar vibe..

Oh I have ALL the Vicous Rumors cds especially the first two rare ones with Vinne Moore..fuck yeah..but Mark Magee killed on the later shit.!!!

Let's not forget to mention some other of my very faves..all four Hexenhouse releases with Mike wead (King Diamond, Momento Mori, Abstrakt Algebra), Sabbat with the awesome Andy Sneap, Heathen, Forbidden, Defiance, Psychotic Waltz (awesome) , Toxic, Xentrix, Atrpohy and Wrathchild America, oh and Pestilence..Fuckin' A..A for Apocrypha..Got all three..I burned a copy of "The forgotten scroll" for Glen Drover..we were diggin' on the same shit just like we are!!

But since wer're to adress "prog"..it's OK to stray..throw out anythging cool..fuggit..

Back to Prog.. Zero Hour kicks fucking ass..everyone needs to check them out pronto..clean vox too, and if you dig COB but want clean vox..check out Virtuocity..I believe there's COB members in that camp if I remember right..it's really good, haven't put them on in a while..!!

But COB fans should investigate Norther, Imperanon, Eternal Tears of sorrow, and Skyfire..

fuggit..throw me you favorite kind of metal and I'll tell you my favorite in that genre..let's see how that works too.

Most prog fans I know are incredibly diverse in the music they listen too. That's what makes them prog in the first place. Love your suggestions! I'll listen to anything if it's got a groove or a melody, and yes that includes Hip Hop and Techno.

For anyone into COB: Sinergy blows them away, imho. Alexi's ex on vocals, and alexi actually playing tastefully!

It took me a few listens, but once I got it, it was like a switch was thrown listening to Atheist. In regular rotation here.

It's funny, my favourite track on Scar Symmetry's last was the bonus track. You guys hear that one? I guess I'm just a sucker for a big melodic hook!
That whole album rocks though. Haven't heard their first cd, but this one is supposed to be a big step up.

Alarum - Aussie metal represent!!

I'm like Spiv - Opeth got me into harsher vocals. I think they've opened a lot of ears in that respect. The music is too good to deny, and Akerfeldt's clean vox are so world class, that you just have to put up with the harsh vox....at first. And then you can't imagine the music without them.

Sinergy is some seriously good shit. My first introduction to Laiho & Latvalla. Still prefer them to COB.

G ..guys..Coronore was the very reason that made me cross over from 80's inspired metal Ratt, Dokken, Savatge, Queensryche, Rough Cutt..to more extreme style..it's a great trasitiona band because the guitar tones , the writing and grooves are so awesome, I recomend to anyone interested in Coroner two albulm..well three...No More color, Mental Vortex (my fave) and Grin ..TT is sounds like Satch on that one...I took alot from them and added that flavor to my own stuff.."Son of lilith" is one iof the baddest metal tunes ever in my book..when you hear it..it just grabs you..timeless!

Get the new The Absence (Riders of the Plague) just came out last week!! Waaay need to have for sure dude!! More balls than the last one!! LOVE IT!! Hasn't left my cd player since I got it!!
