Has anyone seen LOG's Mark Morton and the pickups it looks like he is using lately? They look like EMG's but I can't tell?? Would a tone fanatic like Morton switch to EMG's?? Does anyone know??

I was reading somewhere online that he sweats a lot and needed some covers over his pickups so they wouldn't short out or something. So rumor has it that they're just covers over his passive pickups, but I think he's been experimenting with different pickups anyway, as he always has, and I know I've seen at least one of his guitars with EMGs, Duncan Livewires, and I think another has the new active Duncan Blackouts.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

There's videos of the Download Festival on Youtube, and I posted about them a couple months ago. Another forum member posted a link for the videos to be uploaded, so now I've got the whole show on DVD.

Just read an article of a recent interview and Morton is still saying he is using 59's. Also for the quote about there being pickup covers over the pickups due to sweat but there was also a rumor that he is toying with the duncan blackouts but its unconfirmed.

Is he actually using the '59s in his models? His import signature models indeed have them, but I didn't think he was using them in his Custom Shop models. Also, according to Duncan's catalog, he's used the Custom, Invader, Livewire Metal and Dimebucker.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I know I noticed that too. I just read in the most recent GuitarEdge magazine how he said he is using duncan 59's and there was a source from another board quoted as saying straight from Morton himself "They are still the duncan 59's but they have a cover over them."

Sorry to bring up a year old thread but I thought that he used Duncan Jazz in the neck and an Invader in the bridge (in the MM1 at least)? At least that is what I have seen at the Duncan artist page and another guys site who does rig stuff.

You are probably right. I am planning on going to see them in Richmond around Turkey Day for a warmup show so hopefully I can get close enough to spy his config.
TVTiZtiK posted an awesome pic that shows the sweetone arch with the Inavder in the bridge (but I know the pic is way old)

The one pic of the Mark's guitar I saw had two EMGs in it, you could clearly see the logos.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

That's just what I heard and it came from a source within the camp of Lamb of God....Come on you can't tell me that they don't have crafty and efficient techs who are capable of doing this? I saw a Pic where the bridge pickup had what looked like an EMG and the Neck pickup looked like a regular Seymour Duncan...you are also not suppose to be able to interchange active and passive either....so either its a cover in that particular pick or its a total rewiring. I have not seen the new one where there are 2 so I would like to see that one...however..I heard he was using the covers over the duncans so I am not saying I am 100% right since it didn't come directly from the mouth of Mark Morton...I am just saying that is what I heard from someone within the camp.
