Viv has a better resume. And, better references (I called them).

I highly recommend "Riverdogs" to any Campbell fans who may be looking for something other than his Dio/Def Leppard work. While not as heavy as his stuff with Dio, his guitar playing is stellar none the less.

Ill chime in, and have to go with Viv.He was the hottest tastest guitar player and those pinching harmonics are still in the back of my head. I never had a Dokken concert shirt but always wore my Dio shirt and when I think of Charvel. . I think of Viv.
George Lynch can hold his own,but when I think of Dokken, its softer. Dio and those Rythms to be heavier which I lean more towards. Dokken got hot too and George has his own style.

Exactly. Funny thing is he recorded "Holy Diver" with a Les Paul an
did the first tour with that same LP. He switched over to Charvels during the "Last in Line" era.

I didnt know that, however when I saw him in concert he was playing a Charvel and sparked my interest. . so I got a Charvel catalog thereafter and my stupid social studies took it away, never forget that. So I associate Viv with Charvels.

Yep, it's settled. Yngwie is the better than both of those choads!!

Viv and Lynch are both awesome. But in that video, Yngwie owned both of them.

The other controversy that was settled by that video was the "weakest guitarist of the 80's". I see now it was Eddie Ojeda.

Yngwie did smoke both of them in it (do you remember Spinal Tap saying "why bother playing, I use my guitar as a coffee table") about YJM.
I love the tech, hes wearing a Boogie shirt (I used to have the same one) and little OT, but Geoff Tate blows everyone away in the song, and in the chours you can clearly hear "Rob Halford" singing were stars over everyone.

Lynch. hands down. I grew up on Dokken.

never got as much in Dio's solo stuff but I like all his bands.... funny that way.

but yeah Yngwie does own both of those guys - no one dominates the instrument so completely as him.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I would say Vai has a better command of the instrument than Yngwie...

Yngwie bores me to death. Yes he's good, but no life there. All filler...

As for the question, I vote for Lynch...
                              I'm angry because you're stupid

Lynch here. But I still love Viv's stuff too. Anyone else besides me heard his solo album? Couple that with Lynch's "Furious George", and you've got some really tasty stuff. One tip of the scale for Viv - he can sing!!
