I saw this tour and WASP opened the show. This sounds real cool. If they could get the original WASP line up to open it would be even cooler.

Maiden are never disappointing live. I'll definitely catch them at least once on that tour.
Makes sense. The new DVD should be out soon. The Early Days DVD was the beginning of the band up to NOTB. The new one will be POM, Powerslave and forward.

I wonder if it will go up to Bruce leaving?

Bruce said in Toronto last year that Maiden would be doing a cross Canada tour this spring. Well, Bruce it's fucking FALL now and you haven't shown up yet. Fucker.

Janick Gers is still in there- I have heard nothing to the contrary, at least.

Kind of wish he wasn't. Very good guitarist but he often seems like a third boob up there.

With some things two is the magic number

It should be mentioned however that he does do some songwriting for the band.

I was there Long Beach Ca. 84/85. I found it odd that 38 special opened for them not being a metal band. They recorded part of the Live After death album at that show. 4th row from the stage, I was blown away.

                  ???

I was in Long Beach, but Twisted Fucking Sister opened. What year was that?

The time before that, Maiden was opening for Ozzy.

I saw Maiden almost every time they came to California. Long Beach, the Forum(did they ever play at the forum?) and Irvine. That sucks if I missed a tour, but I don't see how. I have concert shirts and tour books from every album.

Oh, and I will be seeing Maiden if they tour the US. The last concert I was at was Maiden in 2003 I think. Motorhead and Dio opened I think. It sucks getting old

                    I was there!

...Long Beach Arena. Kick ass show (except for stupid Gers dancin' all over the place like a gaywad )

*writes down on list of things to do in 2008*

Hopefully they play a show near San Francisco! Otherwise I'll go completely insane if I can't see them. I MUST see Iron Maiden at least once before I die, or they stop touring, whichever comes first.

I saw the Powerslave tour in Pittsburgh in June of '85 with Accept opening up (supporting their Metal Heart album). One of the best shows ever.

I saw them 2 years ago in Denver and they were great, but I hate the idea of the third guitarist...he was even doing some of Adrian's solos!

Last time I saw Maiden Janick was playing Adrian's solos while Adrian played Adrian's solos. I wish they'd get rid of that dude - Murray & Smith are the team.

I, too, saw the Powerslave Tour with Twisted Sister opening - it was one to remember. This is great news.

For the europeans who are complaining, Maiden where the first band to be confirmed for Wacken 2008 as part of their powerslave tour, which i believe will be their only show in germany, also hgeadlining are Bodom and Kreator so far along woth a couple of others. Its the biggest outdoor metalfest in the world so will be quite a spectacle!!
