  • Sharon-type hatchet job?

MTV brings viewers the best in lifestyle and competition reality shows, plus live events featuring the biggest names in entertainment.

Looks like Mike's finally telling his side
of the story a little. He has enough class
to tell fans to go easy on Wolfgang, all
the while the kid's dad's trying to pretend
Mike was never in Van Halen!

On the sidebar of that MTV page, there's a link to an updated story that has more recent comments from MA. Same bottom line, but you can tell that this whole thing bothers MA more than he let on initially. As it should.

Here's more stuff from Rolling Stone via Blabbermouth...

RollingStone.com recently conducted an interview with former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

RollingStone.com: When was the last time you saw Eddie Van Halen?

Michael: "The last time I actually spoke or saw him in person was right after we walked offstage in 2004, the last show of the tour."

      RollingStone.com: How were things then?

Michael: "It really didn't end in total peace and harmony within the band, for whatever reasons. I'm not going to finger-point at anyone, but the tour, after eighty shows, just couldn't go on at that point."

RollingStone.com: How did you find out they were going to do this upcoming tour without you?

Michael: "Probably like everybody else, I found out on the Internet and through word of mouth. I can understand that he wants his kid to play with him. If I had a kid like that, I'd like to have him perform with me, too. It was kind of funny when I first heard about it being a VAN HALEN 'reunion.'"

RollingStone.com: So they never called you?

Michael: "No, nobody ever contacted me about anything. I just kind of found out with everyone else."

RollingStone.com: Is it true they tried to keep you off the 2004 tour?
Michael: "Yeah. Ed didn't really want me on that tour."

      RollingStone.com: Do you know why?

Michael: "He was always put off that I was going out and playing with Sammy [Hagar] when we weren't doing anything. It wasn't like I was doing it to spite anybody. I was just tired of sitting at home and doing nothing. Sammy asked me one day if I would like to come out and maybe make an appearance at one or two of [his] shows and have some fun, and I said, 'Yeah, great.' It kind of snowballed into me coming out and doing a few songs with him here and there."

Read the entire interview at RollingStone.com.

      Heres the link.

As much as I'd like to see a sober EVH in concert with DLR, I get the feeling that MA's band might be more fun to go see.

MA's comment about not wanting to go through all the drama again resonated with me. I'm 40 now, and all of that rock band drama seems so childish, doesn't it? I can only imagine how silly it must seem in your 50s. Just get up on stage and play, ferchrissake.

AND the constant comment Ed makes to jusify himself is,
"anybody was welcome they knew where the studio was."
In the voice of Austin Powers.....rigghhttt.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.
