  • Songs that you're embarrassed to admit you love?

Or rather the lead break in songs you dont want to admit too?
For me.. (yes im getting in touch with my feminine side)
    "Vixen's "edge of a broken heart" !
Jan Kuehnemund just kills me with that searing fluid tone,
and great string bending! Ok..im out of the closet !!
I love Vixen! Anyone else? Maybe pop songs that still
    rip in the solo?
Others that come to mind..."Steve Perry" "street talk"
with Michael Landau's searing solo in "she's Mine"..

That they love some leads in songs or bands that they shouldnt?
    For me...its Vixen's "edge of a broken heart"...Jan Kuehnemund
just slays me with that smooth searing tone, and string bending!
Another one is Steve Perry's "Street Talk" album and Michael
Landau scorching the lead in "she's mine". But this one is
ok, since its Landau.. There i admit it !
Im getting in touch with my feminine side! :ROTF:

I still like Manowar. That is embarassment enough.
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

I heard that Vixen song last night on the arena rock channel of my digital cable.

I'll say "Smooth Up" by the Bulletboys.

I'm sure many here are too young to remember this tune so here's a link if anyone's interested.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Agreed.. thats a great song, and imo Slash stole
a lot of his "style" from the lead player in Bullet boys!

I caught myself listening intently to an old Winger tune on Metal Mania the other day. Of course, after I realized my grievous mistake, I smashed the television and put some Pantera on.

Not really love, but I like Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Right Round (actually I prefer Marilyn Manson's cover of it, but I'm ashamed of that too )

(yes, that's the song in that notorious meatspin.com site )

I always liked the guitar/sax solo on "Only The Lonely" by The Motels...

"Everybody Wants To Rule The World" by Tears For Fears has a ripping solo as well. "Head Over Heels" by the same has a great keyboard solo...

Funny thing is, I'm not embarrased by anything I listen to anymore. I use to, no doubt about it. I would hide some of my albums all the time. I had a great love for the early 80's Brit Pop like Culture Club, A Flock Of Seagulls and Adam and the Ants and The Thompson Twins and whatnot. So those had to be hidden. But now? Who cares...
                  I'm angry because you're stupid

"Freight Train" by "Nitro" Its so cheesy and him sweeping out of key,I love it.
Be right back, have it saved in my Fav's on youtube.

I also for some strange reason like that song from the 80's (MTV) Squeeze:"Black Coffee in Bed"

[edit] I just watched the Vid and the lead is great,he has great tone. Time to get out the Relic.

I've always liked that song, too. There was a band in the early '90s called Blackboard Jungle (I think they were from L.A.) who also did a cool cover of that song. I've got their CD and demo tape around here somewhere.
