Well said. I find myself typing "Dokken" into YouTube all the time. So much of that era has gone for good reason, but Dokken still rocks.

I'm having trouble figuring out what band Reb is in these days. He sure is a talented palyer and seems to be the go-to guy for so many '80's bands. After Winger, it was Dokken, then Whitesnake, now Night Ranger.

Is he still going to work with Whitesnake if they finally record David's much talked-about new studio record?

Yes, I hung with him and his wife for a couple hours..that dude is a monster. He was talking to me while sitting in a booth . He was plugged into a POD into a very small Peavey amp..I couldn't concentrate on our conversation because he was blazing like mad ..I had to say.."Fuck dude, your killin' me..you're not even trying!!!".

I asked what he thought of George Lynch. He said he always liked his playing but had a new found respect for him when he had to learn his solos note for note. They certainly were "note for note"..just like the record.

I absolutely worshiped George During the Lock and Key and Back for the AttacK then with the first lynch mob record I think he was at his all time best. something about having a vocalist with a bit more soul and passion to bring out Georges playing. I really do not think this clip is on par with what I remember him like during that time. Anyways I wish I only had a fraction of the mans talent and career.

Why i love Lynch, is because of his slippery..wet tone..fluid speed..
blues riffs, and that Satanic phrasing! Just the whole package of
what an 80's GOD should be imo. He had it all. "Mr. Scary"...
Lynch Mobs "Wicked Sensation"... so many PERFECT songs!
Wicked sensation will stand the test of time also... 20 years from
now it will still rip your face off.
This is why ! Stun yourself with this shredding...

Here George works on some solos for the first Lynch mob record. Outstanding!

I have both the CD and DVD of this and it's one of my favorites. George cheats on the whole "Acoustic" vibe, but hey... it's George.

Yes, even if he had never played another note, Lynch's work on Tooth & Nail, Under Lock and Key, Back for the Attack and the 1st Lynch Mob album cemented his place on the guitar hero list. And he's still around and kicking...what a great career!

Next to Randy, George was my biggest influence and inspiration back in the 80's. The man's tone, phrasing, and vibrato were just so far beyond most of his peers at that time IMO.

I'm not sure what has happened to him over the years but he's a shell of his former self. I saw him going on two years ago (a week or so after Bill saw him) and my thoughts were the same...weird, sloppy playing and a thin, shrill tone that was exteremely unpleasant to listen to (I walked out halfway throught the show). Unlike when Bill saw him though, he looked as if he would have rather been just about anywhere else...just going through the motions (it was only a few days later that he had his "dehydration" episode). I would love to see the man make a strong comeback but I'm not holding my breath.

I've seen this clip and others from this little jaunty in the studio before. His playing here is better than it is now, but even on this clip I find his tone is crappy, and the playing is nowhere near as sharp and focused as it used to be. I find this to be a pile of aimless noodling that never goes anywhere, with zero memorable licks or melodic content. To me this is a clip of George in the early stages of his downhill slide.

Why use approximate "Authentic" gear and play and sound NOTHING like Jimi..only if he had a Line 6

He did sound EXACTLY like George Lynch tho..

One of my favorite GL moments is in LM's cover of "Tie your mother down"..that is a tasty solo.

I own the 95 live DVD and I cannot believe how terrible Don's voice is during the performance. George had his moments, but after watching the video that was the first time that I thought he appeared kind of sloppy. Alot of people like that concert, but I am not one of them.
