Ok guys i love Yngwie but i found a live clip where his sound is bad and his playing is the worst i have seen of him.

I've watched those Fender Frontline clips from NAMM and thought the same. I was totally surprised because he always has great tone and I've never seen him have an "off" night like Lynch or Beck. Although watching it again, I think his playing is fine but the sound is horrible! His tone was so bad, I thought maybe he was playing through one of those Metalhead amps

No, Bill, those are "this is the Yngwie we know and love" clips. The NAMM '07 clips are the "bad" ones, which of course are still better than 99% of us.

I give the guy credit because he is an awesome player. But, it's amazing what a good amp and a few effects can do for your sound. I'm sorry but I am not a Fender amp fan. IMO they are dry and lifeless. I know a lot of pros use them and people swear by Fender but the proof is in the clip. That was the great Yngwie playing out of a dry ass fender twin or something. Sounded to me like he came in cold, because as the clip goes on he really comes on strong, also it looked like he was just having some fun and improving and taking chances doing different stuff. Whatever they had him on at first was very dry sounding, seemed to change when he switched guitars for whatever reason. I'm with Horns on this one, even on his worst day he still kicks ass!Comment

I've seen YJM live many many times, and I've noticed that when he's the headline act he kicks ass, and when he opens for someone else...well, his heart just doesn't seem in it as much. Maybe he's just not inspired when he's whoring himself out at the Fender booth._________________________________________________

It looked like there was something wrong with the first guitar. Thats why he switched. A bad pot maybe. But the tone sux donkey balls. Shredders shouldnt play through fenders. Unless its a 5150 III or an Ultra sonic. That what looks like a tone master half stack just sounds like ass with his playing style. And that DOD Yngwie pedal just brings out the worste in that poor fender amp.
Yeah he's abit off in that clip. But if the tone isnt right it can happen. You just dont feel it.
