No, and I am trying to hang on to what limited memory of the show I have. I even paced myself and didn't break into the Pearl until a couple hours before the show..but I was feeling no pain. It was just sick, I never thought I would get so excited about hearing "Running with the Devil" or "Panama" for the 20,000th time...but when Wolfie started that Bassline I went berzerk, I mean BERZERK. Jumping up and down like I was defective, singing at the top of my lungs, dancing....I was out of my mind. The place was literally awash with beer and I fell down at least 4 times, almost knocked over this poor sap and his GF in front of me twice. It was, for me, a purely religious experience. I want to see it again...I have heard rumors they may add dates...I am praying they add a New Orleans date so I can go again, stone sober, and take my son. The energy was just so high, Jimmy...anyone that says it wasn't is nuts. Everyone in there was going crazy. The worst part was getting up at 5 the next morning to catch my flight...missing a connectio due to mechanical difficulty and all that fun stuff...but the pain was worth it.

I said it back then, and I will say it again. You cannot keep THE KING down. All of you cocksuckers that piled that hate on Eddie can take a flying suck at my ass!!!!

    LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

AMEN!! I knew I could count on you, Mike! Thanks for the review, man. I honestly expect to cry at the show - I was nuts at the '04 shows - I've been waiting a long ass time for this one.

It will be a great experience, trust me. Eddie is so into these shows...pumping his fist, big shhit eating grin on his face. Lots of interaction between Ed and Wolfie, and DLR and Wolfie. You can tell they are mentoring him and bringing him along. I know alot of people are saying it isn't "real" VH without Mike, and they may have a point, but there is something special about having the next generation of VH out there. And, the kid is good! I think he is also playing the EVH amps, because he had a second stack of amps on his side and his tone was pretty distorted.

Oh, and get ready...because it is LOUD. If you are on Ed's side you will be happy as he is using a standard chord, hitting all his own pedals and does not venture too far from his spot. He is up there working the hell out of the phaser, flanger, the channels on the amp and his new wah.

Mike, did Wolfie look comfortable and get into it..He looked pretty nervous in the rehearsal clips. I heard him doing the basslines right..which was a concern.

Did they use Mike's pre-recorded vocals to a click track. Dave seems to be a little more "focused" now than he was back in the day..so between him, Wolf and Ed doing backups..I'm assumimg they'll prolly scrap the MA backing tracks..

I'm very happy Ed pulled himself together and back on his game..

Wolfie looked a little nervous, but he did an admirable job. He was LOUD, damn...sometimes louder than Ed. Also, he sounded distorted...I think he may have been using the same 8 head 8 cab stack of 5150IIIs that Ed was using. He had an identical setup on his side. Vocals, as far as I could tell, were all live and sounded pretty decent. Hey, its live...the energy is high, half the audience is high, it is rock and roll. It was, for me, one of the best shows I ever saw. I just had a blast and would see it again in a heartbeat if it came around.

One thing that was weird....Ed had a wedding ring on his right hand. Don't know what is up with that.

                Mike

Just got back from seing VH at The Mohegan Sun

Everybody played and sounded great. At one point during Hot for Teacher Eddy's guitar cut out and they couldn'd get it working for over 1 minute.
I also noticed prerecorded guitar tracks during a few songs.
It was a great show. Really great. Dave is a fantastic frontman. Possibly the best ever. Ed can really play his ass off and Wolfgang nailed every bass line and every backup vocal. He sounded just like Michael Anthony. Actually.. I didn't miss Mike at all.
A GREAT SHOW... go see it.

Bill, they were filming the event, so you know a DVD is in the works.

I also heard rumors that they may add shows if they make it to the end!

I was just told last night by a dear friend who also happens to be a booking agent, that additional dates have already been added, just not published. One of the venues added will be CenturyTel Arena here in Bossier City.
