From this point on, your opinion on anything musically related means absolutely nothing.

I'm 31...so I hope that gives me some credibility in the "AC/DC is the most boring repetitive, and musically limited rock band ever" topic !!!!

I never brought up sales by the way!! lol....but since you guys started I felt the need to post sales figures.

In all seriousness I like AC/DC but there music can't compare to the layered studio mastery of Hysteria and Pyromania.

Hey deflep, Britney Spears "…Baby One More Time" sold more than Hysteria - does that make it good music?

PS - Def Leppard has NOT had any good albums.

LOL AC/DC has a hell of a lot more albums than Def Leppard, and every album is good. It's worked for them, and they proved you don't need to change your formula and sell out. Def Leppard became boring after Pyromania.

I had seen Back in Black sales numbers qouted in the 45 million range to date.

Loved Pyromania but that was a long long time ago.

What? I've personally witnessed multiple ST moments at a KISS show...but AC/DC?...pure rock 105.5!

Phil is a very good guitar player. All you have to do is find a non Def Leppard recording of him. He played great on a Jeff Beck tribute disc I have. Def Leppard is crap.

[Edit] I'm thinking this may be a totally ridiculous statement by me.

To say Def was the biggest 80's metal band is a little overboard. Actualy i would say it is very close between Motley Crue, Ozzy and Def Leppard.

If Viv is such an idealist about guitar than he should go play blues riffs in his house and let someone else have a chance to rock out with the Leps.

In defense of Phil..the guys playing on Hysteria with all the layered parts, crazy fills, dive bombs, and pure melodic shredding was ripped off by every 80s metal band in the late 80s. Their production and song-writing chops on those early albums have still not been topped.

Phil also has put on record some sick extended solos with very kool scale choices ...see White Lightening on Adrenalize and the first track in Retro-Active.

What rock songs are better than Rock of Ages and Pour Some Sugar on Me????? It just doesnt get any better!!

So I'm with Dio on this one, after years of restraint and in a casual setting he said what he really thinks one time. Viv has been talking shit that maligned not only his benefactor but his fans for all these years.

And after what, 15 years in Def Leppard, he still can't or won't play the Steve Clark parts correctly? WTF? I could see that if he came up with something better but that certainly hasn't been the case.
