Vivian rocked it with Dio, not sure what's up with that feud.
I cannot think of one really distinguishing guitar part Viv has done since he tore it up on We Rock, The Last In Line, I Speed at Night, etc.Jackson KV2
Jackson KE1T
Jackson KE1F
Jackson SL1

I dont think hes got issues. I think hes got a legit beef. Vivs been slamming him for years publicly. Dio wouldnt do that. This was a taped conversation by some fan who brought up a sore subject. I thought he handled it ok. Its actually very cool of him to sign all that stuff. And hes civil and talks to the fans, seems ok to me.

It's a shame, it really is.
Gotta side with Dio on this one from everything i've read and heard over the years.
In a perfect world Viv would still be kicking ass in Dio (or something similiar), Jake would still be kicking ass with Ozzy (or something similiar), Randy would be alive...
Funny how life takes these fucked up turns and it's sad to realize the magic that was created back then is gone.

WOW!
I've met Dio a handful of times over the last 20+ years, he's one of the few guys that seems to "get" the "treat the fans with respect, they'll buy your music and hit your shows". Is he a megalomaniac? You bet - Iommi and Blackmore couldn't stand him - but look at his formula for success - seems to have worked.
Viv owes everything he has to Dio...when he picked him out of Sweet Savage, he had maybe 2 nickels to rub together...one other thing that rubs me the wrong way is the dissing of Charvels in favor of Les Pauls, because he's a big-time "blues guy" now.
Riverdogs = Poo....
Wow...I guess THAT'S been on my mind for a while, thanks for letting me unload... :ROTF:Crime doesn't pay. Neither does lutherie...

I was lucky enough to have spent some time with Dio when I was at GIT in 88. He's probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. Never met Vivian, but Dio was about as professional and sincere as I've seen.Special deals for JCF members on Jackson/Charvel, Suhr, Anderson, Nash, Splawn, Bogner, LSL, Ibanez, Diezel, Friedman, Bad Cat, 3rd Power, Dr. Z, ENGL and more. "Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

From everything that I've heard, Dio has a legit gripe againt Viv. That isn't to say that Viv doesn't have a bit of a point, too. But my understanding is Viv took a business disagreement over monetary terms and made it into a very public, very personal one.
Not to mention that, for many years now, Viv seems to slag everything about metal in general. He pretty much treats it with disdain. And he seems to have forgetten that he would have no "stardom" whatsoever without it - especially his start in Dio - and that it still pays his freakin' bills through DefLep. Quite frankly, the dude seems seems to have an ungrateful, petulant bad attitude.

Viv probably has some legit reasons to hate Dio, but he's just gone so overboard about it for so long, so publicly, that he's frigged himself.
I read an interview where he said that he has yet to make 50 cents as a 'name' musician. Dio probably did completely hose him, but he then joined a commercial rock band well into the downside of their career and selling zero records, and abandoned the guitar style that got his name in the press in the first place. What is that going to bring in? He is one dude that has no clue how to cash in on his abilities and the chances that he had.
When he left Dio he was a guitar hero with a lot of fans. He pissed that away pretty quick.
