    • Vivian Campbell isn't worthy of scraping the dogshit off Dio's shoes. Dio is true metal personified.

      • I can this.. one of the first clinic gigs I ever got was playing with Viv for Randall back when I was in college.. he was/ is really bitter about the whole Dio thing.. didn't say much about it unless asked.. but of course back then EVERYONE always asked..lol! Now he had just left.been pushed out of Whitesnake, so he was maybe a little extra bitter.. but his side of things is that basically he gets nothing from the Dio thing and that the reason his playing was so smoking hot and fast was that he and RJD fought horribly and he'd go in and take his aggression out on the solo section.
I've never had ANY dealings with RJD, but by all accounts he's extremely cordial and giving. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

          • Kevin D,

I really dig that moment of clarity clip on the Dimarzio site, sounds amazing/beautiful. I need the tab for it, ha ha.

And holy shit, the picture of Paul Gilbert on the player page with his hands outstretched? Looks like he could do hammer-ons from the 1st to the 12th fret.

              Lars,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for taking the time to listen! MUCH appreciated.
I can tab out the Moment of Clarity thing for you.. it'll take a little while..but large chunks of it are already done..(the rhythm parts and the melody at least..lol). there's a video of the whole performance on YouTube and also on the 'ole MySpace.

              • Deflep VERY cool Voyagers. I love the Koa of course. When those came out I thought they looked a little too umm "weird". I played a Koa and it played and sounded awesome. I was seriously thinking of buying one!

I thought The Parker Fly were "weird" too..but I could play the hell out of 'em. Almost bought one of those too.

                • That Koa Voyager is awesome. I've been looking for one for quite some time but I have yet to find the right deal.

The WRB's are cool as well and are very rare. Reb doesn't even own one anymore (In fact my son had to explain to him what a WRB was...Reb was like "Oh, that Explorer looking thing").

                  • The first two Dio albums were fantastic. It's a shame Viv and RJD couldn't work it out. They could have made more great albums and reunions and all that. Oh well... Too bad.

There is a Koa Voyager on sale on ebay now but the guy is asking $8500!!

You're better off getting the Beach Suhr...it will most likely play and sound better.

                      • I played at an outdoor party this past summer and one of the guys there had a black Voyager, just like the one pictured above. Later in the evening he broke it out and let me play it. It played awesome!

The thing that shocked me knowing that these guitars are pretty rare is that he scalloped the whole fretboard! Like I said, it played great... but talk about ruining resale value... ouch!

Sorry but your statement is wrong. You see, in order to be the biggest metal band from the 80's the band has to actually *be* a metal band. Here, I'll help you out a little :

Slayer - Metal band (Music to kill your parents by)

Winger - NOT a metal band (Music to hit on 17 year old jailbait)

Megadeth - Metal band (Music to smash your dad's head through the TV by)

Posion - NOT a metal band (Music to practice putting on your makeup)

S.O.D. - Metal band (Music to Fuck the Middle East with)

Bon Jovi - NOT a metal band (Music to run away at 14 by, because your parents "just don't understand" you)

Pantera - Metal band (THE soundtrack to an ass-beating... try it! Any ass beating in history will sync up to a Pantera song!)

Britney Fox - NOT a metal band (Music that gets you laughed at by metal-heads)

Anthrax - Metal band (Music to Spread Diseases with)

Cinderella - NOT a metal band (Music you try to explain to the girl who's pants you are trying to get into "really speaks to how I feel about you")

Metallica - In the 80's they were still a metal band (Music to stick up someones ass)

Great White - NOT a metal band (but made you wish you played bluesy rock to get the chicks they had in their videos!)

Mercyful Fate - Metal band (Music to worship Satan by, and be scared of your grandma)

But Def Leppard??? Def Leppard??? C'mon, ... Def Leppard????

Def Leppard - candy coated pop-rock which was out metalled by the likes of ...oh, let's say, how about, STRYPER .. hahaha (yes those bumblebee outfit wearing, jackson playing, jesus loving, mesa boogie having god rockers who loved to strap on way too tight and inappropriate leather pants that would show the outline of their schlongs while thrusting them at young japanese girls in the audience) .. yep, outdone by the Yellow and Black Attack ...ahahahaha....

                          Metal indeed.

DefLep are(were) a great band. I saw them on the Hysteria tour, and they were staggeringly good. But not metal.
