I dont really like his style, but ya gotta give him props, his supernatural CD sold 15 million copies.

I don't find someone's album selling lot's of copies, these days, as a good reason to give "props". I have two words for you: "Milli Vanilli"

Yeah, but Carlos didn't lip sync. You don't have to give him props, I am.

He's got some great tunes and I like his tone, but I don't think of him as a great or groundbreaking guitarist.

Pretty good guitar player, but even if you don't like him, you have got to love his tone.

Point being: Just because an "artist" sells alot of albums, doesn't necessarily mean they deserve accolades.

And I actually HATE his tone. I think it's as crap as his playing. Seriously.

Well, In think his tone is as juicy as a ripe peach on a warm summer day. But I play Boogies, so maybe I am biased. Still, if you think his tone is shit...perhaps you need to take a good listen:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Good song, and good to see him with a Les Paul, tone sounds alot better.

I watched it. Eh, what was so great about his tone? Sorry, but I just don't see, OR HEAR it. To each his own, though, right?

He's definitely made a name for himself in the world of classic rock because of the hits he wrote in the ‘70s and ‘80s. I think he deserves a lot of credit for that alone. I assume most guitarists are familiar with his distinct lead style. I can see why any guitarist interested in Latin and rock music would put him at the top of their favorites list. He also has a few good jazz albums. He may be more versatile that most people think.

He has a unique tone and style. I just don't care for it.
Repetitive and pretty sloppy.... even in the studio.

I like Santana. But i'd like him alot more if he stopped making those terrible duet albums.

Couldn't agree more. He's best when he's doing the Latin sounding stuff.

Seems like that's the only way he can get any facetime, glom off a current artist.
