  • Megadeth Warchest - Live DVD from '90

I just got this last week. The fifth disc is a bonus DVD of a concert with the lineup of Mustaine, Ellefson, Friedman and Menza. Absolutely incredible. It's a cool show because Marty is not shown with any of his Kelly KE1s. He plays a black Rhoads with gold hardware a lot, and towards the end has his black Firebird with reverse headstock and EMGs. Awesome.

Mustaine mostly plays a Silver Sparkle V except for In My Darkest Hour where he has the doubleneck V. If you can check it out do so! Really great shots of some Jackson guitars.

You get to see marty with a floyd , but his spastic picking style doesn't actually affect the tuning

I just got it aswell, the audio from the '90 concert is better though, better songs and tone.

The '92 vid sounds like his guitar is being played through a computer.

you know, I'd give about anything to have that picking style.

he's got notes on his guitar that none of my guitars seem to have...
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Do a search on youtube for Tornado of Souls - Marty playing an RR1 in that video.

i was at the monsters of rock ( reggio emilia (italy ) ) in 1992.
they were promoting countdown to extintion and dave played anarchy in the uk with a soloist.
the only time i saw him with a non V guitar.
            any other experiences?

I want to know if it's a previously unrelese concert or not? Is this concert the one that you can get in the web that is on MTV Italy that starts mid song Holy Wars? or is it another one?

I believe all of the concerts in the Warchest were previously available on VHS, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, Marty holds his hand at such an odd angle for picking, almost in line with the strings. Crazy!!!

I don't think so, the DVD is available on google video, but being the internet, the quality isn't too good, and the live audio from 1990 is available as video off of google video, but again quality is bad. The audio disc from 1990 has great quality; it's remixed and remastered by Andy Sneap.

Just got it! it simply rocks! and to be honest, as much as I disliked the united abominations... so much I like it now... to me it's the best Megadeth since youthanasia, but it took me some time to see that

I'm always impress with how Dave plays the solo of Holy Wars walking around on stage...
