  • Anyone for some Kings X love?

Man... "Music over my head" playing on Satellite yesterday, and i couldnt
get out of my truck! Kept sitting there rewinding my Sirius and listened
to it about 8 times! Ty Tybor kicks ASS! What a tone.

I agree. Black Flag is on the soundtrack of my life. It calls to mind a rather frisky young lady who I....actually I'll keep that one to myself.

    Very underrated band.
All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.

+1. And, to say nothing of the vocal harmonies in that band!

I guess they're just too good to be popular...

Great band. They've had a stinker or two, album-wise, but just a fantastic trio. I saw them on the "Ear Candy" tour in Dallas and they played and sounded awesome.

One of the best album reviews I ever read was in the "The Rocket" (a Seattle music rag) for King's X's "Dogman". It said, "This album will kick your speakers' ass". I totally agreed with that one.

I agree. They have missed a few times, but for the most part, they are excellent writers and KILL live. They are extremely tight and all great musicians. Ty Tabor is more of a traditional lead player, but his tone is smoking and he does it really well. I can't imagine going to see them as a guitar player and not admiring and enjoying what he does.

Also, if you read interviews with many name musicians, they will quote them as a favorite. Reb Beach comes to mind.

Great band. I wanted the band to play Music Over My Head. Aparentley they were not as much of a Kings X fan as I am.
                Just one more guitar!

YES..I like everything up to Dogman. That was their last for me. had Ear Candy and a couple others after Dogman, but I ditched them..there is always always a couple decent tracks..but their first two will always be my faves...OOASP and GGTN.

I LOVE the SUPERSHINE project with Doug Pinnick and Bruce Franklin' (Trouble)..that's a very good cd. I recommend checking that one out, if you haven't already
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
                  Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

+1 on that Supershine cd. Also Doug's Poundhound cds and his side project with Reb Beach, The Mob, are great. As for King's X, they are all solid albums with Dogman being my personal fave.

I'm ashamed to admit I've only heard 2 of their songs. If I were to buy one of their albums, which one should I get that would want to make me buy more?

Gretchen Goes To Nebraska is my favorite, hands down. Out of the Silent Planet is great as well. I think they are the most consistant albums front to back, but the others have some great moments.
