Don't get me wrong, I love Yngwie's playing but he should stick to ruining vintage strats!!!
That is sick, EMGs would have been better.

Vito Bratta - he had 2 main strats, there was the sunburst Fender with the 70's neck, and the white ESP with the regular neck

also his Steinies, he had the no headstock one, and then the headstock one

SRV's Lenny. Secondary to good old Number One, but still recognizable.

              Fender's going to make a limited-edition model: http://www.modernguitars.com/archives/003852.html

The article says that GC is going to offer them at $17K. Yikes!
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

I believe he also said it was a huge mistake. His Unchained guitar is semi-unknown too, but I do believe he used it a fair amount around the time of Fair Warning. Kk Downings Black Strat is semi unknown too. the one with mirrored pickguard and DiMarzios.

Wasn't that one Glenn's? I thought KK had the white strat with the reverse head.

I get the two confused, but I think you're right. I didn't know KK had a white Strat though.

I'm pretty sure he was lying so people wouldn't copy him. Ed lied alot in early interviews, and he hated when people would try to build copies of his guitars.

I mean, when you look at it, it's basically a star shaped guitar, why would it go from sounding so great to sounding like crap? Eddie often preffered this guitar over his black and white frankenstrat.... listen to the first album, a bunch of songs use this guitar, including You Really Got Me. Of course he mostly played the Strat, probably because it played better and had a whammy bar. But it seems like he preferred the tone on this one. Sadly it was stolen on the first tour.

No it wasn't, EVH still owns that guitar, look up the thing on Youtube about the Frankenstein and you can see it hanging on the wall of his studio.

at 1:30 behind Eddie at the right next to the gold records is the Ibanez destroyer.

Anyway, EVH had some valid points on why it started to sound shitty after he sawed a chunk from it. There needs to be a good base for the bridge to resonate properly that's what gives a guitar the sustain. The density of the wood.

The guitar had a great tone you could hear all over VH1 but cutting a big chunk out of the guitar right where the strings resonate had to change the sound. Maybe it didn't sound terrible but it wouldn't sound the same as before he chopped it up. That's just what I've always thought.

I believe your right. He thought it lost a lot of tone when he cut it too close to the bridge...

I also believe the early recordings with this guitar were before he modded it...

When I was at the LA Custom Shop last year they were building a new CS Destroyer for him...

How could it be stolen on the first tour when they used it for the cover of the third album???
