Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. It's much appreciated.
My amp: a Line 6 Spider III, 75 watt combo with one 12" speaker. It's the best sounding amp I've ever had. It has built in effects. Other than distortion, there is some delay and reverb. That's it.
I almost forgot... the pickups are Seymour Duncan, a JB in the bridge position and a Jazz at the neck.
Everything about that clip was very nice. I really dug the tone. I'm stunned that that sound came out of a Spider, as I've played a few, and never liked anything that I could dial in. Nice sweeping, and clean picking work, too. Don't sell yourself short, you got chops.

Wow, I was gonna guess Line 6 because I have a patch on my AX2 that sounds similar to that!

Go easy on you? Dude the only criticism I could come up with is you look a little bored here and there. I don't think I played that well on my best days.

Yeah, I do look a little bored in a couple spots. I'm one of those "face guitarists" who has a tendency to make strained or strange faces while playing, so I was purposely trying not to do that. Plus, there were a couple spots where I just wanted to hold the note to blend into the next segment. Should I look at the camera and smile or look to the side with a serious look? I didn't know what to do.
Anyway, I'm my own worst critic. Plus, this being a board full of guitarists, I was half expecting a lot of "Not bad, but I can do better" comments. But you guys have been awesome! Thanks for the compliments. Really, it means a lot. And I'll try to look more excited in the next one!
It was a minor crit only mentioned to emphasize how much I liked your playing. What you look like while ripping a solo is a damned either way situation. I like how animated Vai is. My friend thinks he looks like a dork much of the time. I say do what comes natural.
If we aren't our own worst critics, we probably aren't as good as we think we are
How many guitarists does it take to change a light bulb? One to change the bulb and 99 to say they could do it faster with more feeling. I knew that's where you were coming from.
