KK Downing is an incredible guitarist imo. Besides his great playing he can write some wicked stuff!

To me he's clearly better than Kirk. His riffing is awesome and his solos although not as technical as Kirk's (if Kirk's are any ) are always better sounding. The middle solo of Master of Puppets, the guitar solo in Nothing else matters are first to come to my mind, both of which are great great guitar solos..

And of course Dave Mustaine, Marty and him were the best guitar duo of all times
Agree about James...plus he's got to remember all the words while playing
    that dead on attack!

Another +1 for getting The Scream, Let It Scream. That CD is one of my all time favorites. Bruce really shines on that. He has killer vibrato.
Breaking Point, my all instrumental CD available here:

Let It Scream, one of my favorites as well. Wish Corabi would have stayed with The Scream instead of joining the Crue.

the only player that outdoes Marty is Schenker (when he's on).
nobody else even comes close in terms of melody, phrasing, attack, vibrato, all the good stuff.

Bruce is like Paul - with some soul and feel.

Dickey Betts. Duane and Dickey are still the best rock guitar duo ever in my book.
