Phil Lynott was proof you could groove balls on bass with a pick!

Alot of players think otherwise. I can hang with anyone on bass with my fingers or a pick. Sometimes I prefer a pick depending on the music, tone/vibe I'm going for.

I agree with you Bill, there are some songs our band wrote that we all felt the bass player needed to use a pick on. It gives the bass line a more percussive agressive feel. Being a 3 piece we have to use whatever we can to maintain the entegrity and emotion of the piece.

I like stuff from all decades. 80's cuz I was a teen and thats what I was into, 70's cuz it had Zep and Sabbath, 90's cuz it had the underground scene, 2000's cuz theres lots of good metal everywhere. Lucky me. I get more out of it all than people who like that bit or this bit. I don't need to pine for the good ol' days, as they are still going on for me.

So I'll agree with all who are saying AC/DC and Skynyrd and Zeppelin rocked and so on. Whole hearted agreement. They rocked all right.

Want more good music?? Get the new Blood Red Throne CD -> Come Death. It kicks ass.

Listening to an FM radio "History of Rock" program on Zep right now.
Interviews, and songs...it's amazing how many chops were borrowed
from them, the first true heavy metal band.

Edit: They still sound like sh*t, live, like they were fried when they they performed.
