Has anyone heard if VH is going to put out a CD/DVD package of this tour?
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

Like I said in my original review, it is cool to see the band re... well almost reunited, and you can't argue with the set list. Roth does a great job. Alex's solo was pretty good (and I usually don't like drum solos) I just can't get past the fact that they are charging a premium for the tickets and they are not delivering a "premium" performance. The evidence it all over youtube... check it out. IMO, 90% of the clips are subpar. You have to remember, we're not talking about a "normal" band... this is EVH. The most influential guitarist of our generation. Or in his words, the man who invented guitar playing period... Bands at that level should NOT have guitar tuning issues, missed queues, etc... as regularly as they seem to. Always an excuse... Not only that, but in the recent performances I've seen on youtube, Eddie has a monitor set up in the middle of the stage right in front of Alex... he wasn't playing on the right side as usual. What's up with that? I hope it is due to the fact they are having monitor issues and not because of his ego.

Most of my criticism is pointed at EVH because the man has obviously got some substance issues, or his skills have severly diminished.

I guess if you are a big fan and have to go see them, then go for it. You probably won't be disappointed... well, as long as you hit the concessions for booze often during the show.

I thought the show was great and really am not concerned whether they play six shows a week or one a week. I guess for those who have been disappointed, I'm wondering what exactly they were expecting?

I mean, the guys are 50 somethings, they aren't out supporting a new album (yet hopefully?), and best of all, they are getting along (so far). Things are a bit more polished now and a lot less spontaneous, but so is every rock show that rock vets like VH put out (Aerosmith, KISS, etc). Honestly, I'd be pretty pissed if I shelled out nearly $100 and have Dave so hammered that he spends most of the show trying to pick up chicks, Ed so hammered that he forgets what he's playing and can't keep his guitar in tune, not to mention Michael Anthony's out of pitch squealing (lets face it, for as awesome as the VH background vocals are, on those old bootlegs, the live vocals were never that "locked in").

I love all facets of vh and am just happy to see Dave back in the fold and have them put out a good show.
