I always looked at Jake as a skilled player. Too bad he pretty much disappeared after the Ozzy gig. The last solo in Rock n Roll Rebel is badass.

Dang why is there so much disregard on the JCF for the Badlands stuff? That was some truly kickass shit. Jake didn't always jell with Ozzy in my opinion (as well as Ozzy's ), but he and Ray Gillen had great chemistry. Also, the Badlands stuff was rawer and lacked the big production, so you could really hear Jake's rhythm and lead work. Plus....Ray never pulled Jake's hair during his solos!

I saw em at The Palace (now the Avalon) in Hollywood in 1990.
          great fucking show.

That's the best description of an unusual guitar sound since the first YARDBIRDS album. . . .

                Actually... it's a Fender.

...and I wouldn't say that there's no love for Badlands on the JCF just because someone isn't aware of them.

OK, it's just that I've heard those kind of comments more than once about Badlands.

Oh no...the Jake "Fender vs. Charvel" issue....you're tearing open old wounds!!

Well saying it was merely "relogo'd" is a slap across the face to the Charvel dudes who rebuilt that thing. My opinion is that EVERY Charvel has a little bit of Fender in it, on account of the body shape. The Jake Charvel, well..that one has just a little bit more than usual!

I actually loaded badlands into my ipod a few months ago and have been listening to it a ton. His solo debut was his best stuff if you ask me. Jake is a helluva player on the ozzy albums too....

what... even Charvel Stars the Jackson brand, Rhoads VS, Kellys etc then by ur definition?

Nononononoo all charve did was change the pickup config, remove 2 knobs, and add the logo, so its still essentially a fender
