From what I have seen live (Marty/Nick era and current line up), the Drover lineup blows the shit out of the Rust in Peace lineup. Way better overall level of musicianship, much tighter. 1000x better drum work. Lacking in personality though, businesslike as someone said. Marty obviously more unique than Glenn... although he was like a shred session musician rented by a metal band... it showed.

    Eidolon is a smokin' band.

He went from Chris Poland, to Jeff Young then Marty Friedman.

What's written above suggests that Dave went from Chris straight to Marty.
Well, technically, he did...Poland came back and then left again.

Anyways, there's rumblings going around that the Drovers are out, so we'll see what happens this time.

I've seen it in a couple of places, and the topics are all being deleted on the deth.com forums, which usually means...

Other than the Heaven & Hell support gig, Megadeth hasn't played here in years, so I haven't seen them since the TWNAH tour. All of the albums (except Risk) have some great songs I think, but also a lot of filler. Glen's solos just don't do anything for me, but neither did Al's. Megadeth was sort of a "gateway" band for me en route to some of the more technical stuff I listen to now, and it takes a lot more to impress me now than when I first heard Megadeth back in high school.

              and then walk away

Hmmm, I suppose so, but the only work Poland did came out on the demo versions of Rust in Peace.

Poland did the nonMustaine solos on The System Has Failed.

Mustiane- one of the greatest frontmen of all time
Ellefson- mustaines right hand man from the start
                      Friedman- Greatest Deth guitarist
Menza- The face behind the drums we all know

hopefully we will see this lineup again

even if that line-up would come back together again... there's no guarantee we'll get the RIP magic going on... might even be another risk in the making methinks...

If the Rust In Peace era happened to ever get back together, I would probably drop my pants and unleash a load big enough to fill a Gatorade bottle.

But I highly doubt all of them are the ones with their heads up their asses, Mr. Strawberry Short Cake is notorious for being a prick, so maybe when he stops being a prick...

Marty has been asked back numerous times but doesn't want to play thrash anymore. He's too happy over in Japan.

Marty has said numerous times that he didn't leave because of personal differences. He only left because he didn't want to play what 'deth was playing.
