Now I've got a mental picture of you with a calculator counting up the writing credits and working out the percentages.

    Rock ON!

I can't remember who said "98.2% of all statistics are rubbish'. Funny line though.

      • I have to agree with Sinistas, whatever Dave does it disappoints or pisses off someone. I can't see any right choice for Dave in this situation.

The only & best thing he could do to make people happy was keep going with the same line-up which was about to happen this time but seems to be dead in the water already.

In fact all these arguments about Megadeth's line up is a bit pointless. Since Dave's writing most of the stuff, and since guitar solos aren't important that much anymore. As for live performance, as long as the band is playing tight it's not that important to have a guitar player who can nail the solos because Megadeth has had a bigger problem than that, which is Dave's singing. I've watched many 'Deth concerts and I've seen only a couple shows in which Dave's singing is decent And Dave can easily form a line up which could play the songs real tight So live performance isn't really an issue..

And my point is that there are not many musicians out there now who can write a "Sleepwalker" or "Washington's Next" Whatever line up he's with or whatever name he gives to "HIS" band, as long as he can write a couple more classics, I'm in and I appreciate him. No need to argue his choices and if the lead player can nail Marty solos or not, that doesn't matter, but if Marty was back it would be killer.

        • I think J-Lo's fucking great! I wouldn't want him to go to det Ellefson back. And even I sing better than Jr.

If Dave could get Marty back, and some anonymous drummer, the band would be perfect. Menza's playing's what I call "ideal" for metal songs. It's very creative and it's not just brrrrrrrrrrr double bass drum. But I don't think Dave would get him back anytime. They seem to be not getting along well. And since I'm not that proficient on understanding the drum tracks, any decent drummer would do for me, I guess.

The Washington Is Next melody was already written in 1986 by Iron Maiden... it was called Wasted Years. :ROTF:

            • From BLABBERMOUTH:

"Although MEGADETH has yet to confirm Glen's departure via its official web site, numerous postings on various message boards (including MEGADETH's official forum, where such messages are regularly deleted) have suggested that Drover has left the band in order to focus on family life."

Though apparently there are some issues with Glen, nothing official has come from the Megadeth camp or has been posted on Broderick's site, and all the gossip has originated on internet message boards.

...And we all know how accurate internet message boards are. You guys are like a bunch of old ladies...

Not only that, didn't Blabbermouth has a story claiming Ace Frehley had died recently?

              • Jeff Waters commented on the whole thing though, which makes me think he KNOWS something's happened with Drover.

And NextInLine "since guitar solos aren't important that much anymore: " er, you're posting that on a Jackson forum? Don't most people here think guitar solos are VERY important? I know I do!

Sinistas was right too - Polands leads on TSHF sucked badly.

To me it is, but judging by the last album & TSHF it's not to the majority anymore.. And I could live without solos instead of having shitty ones.

                  • Now, now, it's all about taste. I like the solos on UA! And there was plenty of 'em too, which made the album that bit more special.

                        • He plays it very precisely, just like I thought.

There's a Dean VMNT near him. I wonder which guitar he will be playing with Megadeth.

                              • Dave mentions people being pissed with how he handled things. What happened? Or is it just that he replaced Glen?
