EJ is easily among my favorite guitarists. Tone and phrasing like Frank Marino.

    Beyond good taste!

I had the opportunity to work with him a while back. He played a benefit that we had at the club. He's a super nice and soft spoken guy. We asked him about booking an actual night and he was quick to say yes. I can't wait. I've seen him and met him quite a few times and I'm always in awe when he's doing his thing.

Venus Isle is a great album - I consider it a guilty pleasure, since everyone I know is generally repulsed by his voice and extreme sentimentality.

I like more his songs on the G3 CD than the DVD/Video, but there are now videos of him playing them in youtube or anywhere else

I love Venus Isle! There isn't a single bad note on that album. EJ put a lot of work into it, and it shows.

And I believe that he was playing piano as a boy even before he took up guitar. You can hear a lot of piano experience in his guitar chord voicings.

There are a lot of EJ fans around here. I've been a huge fan since I first heard "Zap" off of tones when it first came out.

I remember an article on EJ when he first hit the scene where somebody (I want to say Billy Gibbons, but I'm not sure) was quoted as saying that as good as he is on guitar, he's even better on keys.

Beautiful phrasings, reminds me of Winston in some ways. I can see how he got to trasistion that to guitar.

I've had the good fortune to see him on several occasions. One of the most memorable was a show he did in Fort Worth, TX. It was a solo performance where he played acoustic guitar and piano. My wife thinks it's perhaps the best musical performance she's ever witnessed. I thought it was a great show and ranked up there when Eric played a trio gig with Tom Brechtlein and Roscoe Beck.

My first intro to Eric was "Tones". If you've not heard that one, pick it up. When I first heard it, I literally just sat down and listened to it in utter amazement.
