Leppard could still be viable if they'd just play some fucking rock music, instead of chasing trends. The covers album was a total piece of shit.
But if this new one really DOES have that Back In Black influence I'm willing to give it a chance. Who cares how gay it all is if it rocks like "Promises", or "Four Letter Word", or "Scar" or "Gift Of Flesh"?
Rock rock till you drop (unless it's just TOO gay). We'll see.

And they think people want to hear new stuff? I'd bet 99% of people at their shows just want them to play Photograph and shut the hell up already. Don't give us new stuff, you lost your "voice" a long time ago. Just play the hits and get paid...
Ratt did it up right.

Joe Elliot: ["Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" is] a big mish mash of various stages of Leppard through the ages, I think. Some of it sounds like "Hysteria" songs recorded during the "High and Dry" period."
Sounds good. But bands ALWAYS come out with this shit before a new album - remember Metallica claimed St Anger was a return to their thrash roots?! Sheee-it, we all fell for that too.

Since they're still headlining arenas enough fans will still buy the record good or bad. They are doing it the smart way and not playing any of the songs live until the record is out.
Whitesnake on the other hand is playing places like the house of blues so their new record might be the best ever but they probably will not get airplay and will sell very few records.
