  • Anyone here like Type O Negative?

I downloaded some of their music and have to say that the more I listen to it the more I like it.

I used to be into them. I saw them on the Bloody Kisses Tour back in 1994 and they put on a great show. The last CD of theirs that I bought was October Rust.

I have all their albums, they are a great band. They are great live, too.

Type O kicks ass. Very hard to classify that band. That's why I love them. They can sound very heavy and very not-heavy at the same time. Does that make sense? They have a GREAT sense of humor, they don't take themselves too seriously. I swear I hear The Beatles in the way they write too. I have all their albums and love them all. Great band...

Very unique band. The first time I saw em in '95 in Boston is one of the top 5 shows ever for me. Just saw em last fall and they still kick. I love their take on cover songs.

About a year earlier I saw Carnivore with Joey Z and was surprised how close to Type O it was. Well, I shouldn't be THAT surprised, I guess with Peter writing them.

I don't listen to them on a regular basis, but I was pretty impressed with their live show.

October Rust and Bloody Kisses as..ummm traditional Halloween type thing...for the kiddies.

Ehhh..kinda like a TSO thingamajiggy for the Christmas time.

They grew on me when the first came out..I was disppointed when they played with Moonspell and COF. During their Jailhouse rock kinda schtick with the green prison jumpsuites.

Did Pete Steel pose for Playgirl with a fully engorged wazoo?

I guess like Carnivore better..but that's whole different thing.

One of the best metal bands of the last ten years or so. Excellent (and unlikely) cross between Black Sabbath and the Beatles. Ironic I like them so much and yet they are serioiusly de-tuned (B, I think). Probably has something to do with the heavy keyboards and non-cookie monster vocals. Kenny uses the Fernandes Sustainer, and you can really hear it at work in a lot of his leads.

Their last record, Dead Again, was easily one of the best of '07. Strangely, no cover tune this time. I think they ran out of ideas on how to re-work other people's music when they covered "Angry Inch" on the previous record, Life Is Killing Me.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

They did a Santana medley that came with the DVD they put out last year.

I love those guys! I've got all their stuff, but I really enjoy them most from the "Bloody Kisses" stuff to now. The other stuff was a bit too core/punk for me. I've seen them in concert a couple times, and they've always impressed.

LOTS of tongue-in-cheek DARK humor with these guys.

I really like their stuff, but have somehow missed them every single time they've played here. Kenny is one of my favorite guitarists.

I think they're pretty cool. They definitely have their own thing going and have come a long way from where they started.

I saw them at the Zone DK in Manhatten back in '90 when they were called Repulsion. They sucked hard live but I could tell they had potential with their song writing. They were being booed off the stage and Peter Steele challenged some dudes to get up on stage and fight him...a pretty funny scene (they didn't do it). They completely lost the crowd though until they pulled out a song "I Know You're Fucking Someone Else" at which point they seemed to win them back. They still had to be escorted out by security though as there were plenty of people who weren't up front that wanted a piece of Steele's challenge.

The crowd was there to see Biohazard and COC though so those guys were up against it from the start.
