Wow! I remember that place. Was a biker/s&m/bondage/weirdo spot across the street from the Marquee. Saw a few shows there. It was the kind of place that when the metal band/show was over at like 1am or 2 am, it would all of a sudden become a S&M bar. Weird/funny sh!t. In fact, I remember that show. This band from Jersey opened up, called "Jersey Dogs." Bad/shitty speed metal. It was one of the CMJ Music convention showcases I think. Fun times!

Oh and Type O have redeemed themselves with their latest. I forget it's name but it has Rasputin on the cover. A very good return.

Holy shit you were there! The Jersey Dogs were absolutely the opening act...and they did suck I think Mucky Pup played as well or that might have been another night. I was standing straight back from the center/right side of the stage just out of the mosh area. Dave Mustaine was right behind me and Doug Pinnick was to my immediate left.

One of the funniest memories of that night was this little dude tearing it up in the mosh pit...literally scaring people. Next thing you know, he's on stage...lead guitar player for Biohazard!

You're right about the CMJ Marathon as well...that's why I was in NYC. Did you see Alice in Chains open up for King's X the next night at the Limelight? Awesome show!

Saw them open for Pantera in 1995 and saw them again at Ozzfest 1997. Their tone was absolutely horrible both times...just sounded like a sludgy mess.

I think they suck! Saw them in the 90's as they headlined for someone I went to go see. The only thing I remember was they were the loudest fucking act I've seen! Everybody was leaving or stcked up in the lobby!! Nobody in front, and even the people wearing ear plugs were complaining!! Funny cuz a lot of the security was switching in and out from the rail!! Crazy loud!! The next loudest show Ive seen was Motorhead!

I worked in a porno shop when that issue came out. It had a themed "Bad Boys of Rock" layout. I can't remember who else was in there (Type O was the only band represented that I liked), but I'm thinking one of the guys from Jackyl was. There were only a couple of pictures of Pete and I thought it was weird how he was holding himself in every one. He said in an interview later that he felt intimidated by all the lighting people, makeup people, etc., who were all hanging around. I can understand how it might be difficult to maintain under those conditions.


He did another layout in a more hardcore magazine shortly thereafter. With two girls and some 3-way action.
