  • Paul Gilbert - Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar

Pauls new album, released in Japan only. All instrumental. If you guys have not heard it and are a PG fan, you must import this CD. It covers all realms of music, shows he has a ton of diversity. I'm a huge PG fan, I feel his tone is second to none. Check it!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Yep, album is fun, i'm enjoying it. A bit more than i expected from him.
Actually i don't think i expected anything good or bad, i just never was too big a fan of his music, great guitarist, even better teacher, but i never went out and checked out his albums (save Street Lethal, 20 some years ago on Vinyl)
His playing is a bit sterile to me, but never the less, this is a fun album.

I'm NOT buying expensive imports any fuggin' more..

I spent tons of money for years on counltless Japan imports..countless!!!

      All have been re-issued domestically..fuggums.

I'm sure the release is great, but I'll wait.

Bengal, thanks for the first review. Do you have Get Out Of My Yard? If so, can you compare them? I thought GOOMY was pretty diverse.

Bill, I'm sure it will come out in the US on Shrapnel sometime soon. I can't wait - I loved GOOMY!

Get Out Of My Yard was a great album. I tend to like it better than Silence right now, but I just got this one. I love the all instrumental feel of it and it's pretty diverse as well. I'll have to give them a side by side listen and report back.

I like buying imports. The Japanese editions always have more songs on them.

thanks for the heads up Bengal! I consider myself a huge fan and this was completely under my radar ha ha. I went ahead and downloaded the record, but dont worry, i'll buy it come April 8th. In a strange coincidence, this album came out the same week i got my new dog that i had named "Gilbert" after the man himself. kind of creepy.

I went to his in-store mini concert at Tower Records in Shibuya when he was promoting this album a couple of months ago.

He pulled everything off live, playing his reverse Iceman with three single coils.

                          Sure..I know this!

But when they are released domestically they usually include that Jap bonus song and more, sometimes a bonus disc..I know this too.

this day and age 30-40 bucks for a cd in fuggin' ridiculous!
