and it only took 9 years! Think the new songs are okay, definitely have more of the band's older sound. Have to admit I was expecting a little better. Killer guitar tone though.

Oh, the band, Testament. I was thinking this was some biblical thing...
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

Not bad at all, imo. I agree it's not the best thing they've done, but hey it's only 1 track. Chuck still sounds great, and that was a tasty solo. Skolnick is in my top 2 or 3 alltime faves, so I'll admit I'm biased. It wasn't long ago I thought he'd never be back in the studio with them, so any new material with him on it is a good thing in my book. I'll be looking forward to hearing the rest of the tunes.

'Bout friggin' time! Yeah, nine years alright. I recall it took them (Eric & Chuck) four years to get demo tracks to their last label. They dragged their heels long enough that the label dropped them. All I can say it's about time. Good luck fellas!

Yeah man, I'm the ultimate Skonick fanboy, and Testament fanboy. Shit, my first tattoo was from the Souls of Black album cover. The solo in the new song is pretty good. I think part of it might actually be Eric. I was pretty excited to hear what style Alex would be doing. His new version of the solo for Disciples of the Watch on First Strike Still Deadly has to be one of my favorite solos ever, kicks the orginal solo's ass tenfold. All while playing with a very "non-metal" tone.
I've given the new song a few more listens, and it's definitely growing more on me. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album. Hopefully a tour that will actually include a venue around here too.

Well, Chuck did have cancer in 2001 and they've been touring since he got better in late 2002, then they did put out the live reunion CD and DVD.

The Gathering is major fave. Ironically not much soloing, but it makes up for it in aggression, Dave Lombardo owned, killer production and the songs rule. I like it better than most of the classic stuff with Alex..and he's one of my favorite players as well.

Yes Chuck Billy has never sounded better ..IMO!

What an awesome voice..he's a powerful fucker.

                        Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
