Joe, pretty sure that's Nick Barker on the drums in that video. He was supposed to play on the new album, but some shit went down with his visa. At least that's the story they say. I actually prefer Paul. His playing on return to the apocolyptic city is great. i really like what jon tempesta did with them too.
Bill, big agreement on how strong the gathering was. james murphy had only 2 solos, and slow ones at that. but the album was so fucking heavy. fall of sipledome is fucking brutal. if you wanna hear some music that is similar, check out susperia's unlimited album.

has to be before 94. probably 92, when they did they did clash of the titans (i think). 92 is when the ritual came out, which was alex's last album. low came out in 94, which had james murphy on lead.

More than meets the eye - Rocked
Fall of Siple Dome - The signing sucked..
Hammer of the Gods - Rocked
Jun Jun - The singing Sucked.

The last Testament Album I purchased was Souls of Black... If the new album is like the first track release then I will get it. But if it that crap singing like the other.. no fucking way.

Chuck indeed does rule!! I was reading an interview with him where he said he used to sing more melodic, Dokken-type stuff before joining Testament. He said he heard the Legacy demos and was blown away, really got him more into the heavier stuff. He's great because he can pretty much sing whatever style he wants, but has grown more into the growling which suits him well. He's the best death metal vocalist ever in a non death metal band.

The cooler thing is...he actually was doing those growls on the early albums...making him one of the pioneers.

These guys were heros where I lived because they were the local kids done good. My favorite memory of Chuck - there's a place called Music Unlimited which back in the 80's was really the only decent guitar place, there' were a couple others but they were hole in the wall type places. Anyway, I was over there waiting for a classical guitar lesson when Chuck and another guy (and I don't know who the other guy was, I don't think he was 'with the band' came in there. The bassist had blown the head on his amp and for whatever reason it was Chuck who went to buy a new one. I won't say the name of the one douchbag that worked there but he had the misfortune of being the one trying to get Chucks business. He kept trying to get him to buy a different head and Chuck wasn't having any of it, he just kept telling him 'We need (whatever head it was) not that piece of shit your trying to sell me. just get me the head.' then there was some problem with getting the head.. I wasn't a fan of them at the time but was quickly educated on who they were and went and bought the album(s) after that. Since then I've been a big Testament fan, I have to replace a couple of my old CD's that are litterally worn out (All scratched up, Electric crown won't even play anymore on my Ritual CD... ) I'm glad to hear they are releasing a new album. Those guys still have it
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Exactly. Not quite as much now, but he was doing them.

Good stuff, and about time. I really enjoyed their stuff with James Murphy, but it's good to have Skolnick back.
