Most of the times when an anime series is syndicated in the USA and is released in a dub version the original score makes place for something composed for the western markets and in some cases that's a real shame since some of the songs from original Japanese score really have a nice rocking feel.
Such as This one...
"Butterfly" from the first season of "Digimon"
This one was a number one hit in Japan
"Konya wa Hurricane" (Goodnight, Hurricane) from the "Bubblegum crisis 2033" score. This song was completely re-recorded but that USA version failed to get that power from the original and the singer sounded bored.
"Maemuki Roketto dan" (Optimistic Team Rocket) from the imfamous series called "Pokémon" this is a jumping ska song that is irrisistable to try to sing along to (If you can sing in japanese ofcourse) this is not the official clip but I posted this version because it has the full song.
It's a shame really that a lot of kids who are enjoying these shows don't know what kind of music they're missing out on.
