Cool thing was, we got to hang with Marty for an hour prior to the show - insanely mellow guy, no drugs, no drinks, no smokes - he's guitar 24/7. I think they ran through all of Speed Metal Symphony, and a couple from Go Off!, but it's a little fuzzy - it was mind-boggling!

I also got to experience Cacophony live, but no way could I remember it as vividly as missionguitars did!

    They were playing - in a cage ! - at NAMM 1989

Back then, I had no idea who those guys were!

I'm really..Really disappointed, I got this album...And unless you like Jpop vox, and Megadeth songs without the original riffs (the Tornado Of Souls has the ToS riff once...), Did I mention Jpop vox? Don't get this album.

There is some good shred in the album though.

Music that Megadeth wasn't "aggressive" enough to handle... :ROTF:

Music that brings the girlies. Marty doesn't want aggression, he wants to play girlie-rock.

I guess I should just treasure my memories of Marty's playing on RIP and not listen to any of his new "ventures".

Jeff and Marty have been friends for over 20 years..

Jeff is going to get his due..which is long overdue...IMO!

There is talk that Jeff and Marty may continue Cacophony with the singer of Apocrypha. Some wishful thinking,,if their schedules allow it.

Curran Murphy (Nevermore, Annhilator, Shatter Messiah, Antithesis)..is in my friends band Antithesis, where my singer/bud came from . He just called me today to work on a project..original or cover..they're not certain. That would be cool.

BTW Marty is very big in Japan..can't blame him for trying to write music that will be poplar. Other players such as George Lynch fell on their face with that attempt.. BUT Tony Fredianelli did extremely well with Third Eye Blind. Most Third Eye Blind fand are not aware that he was an incredible 80's metal shredder in Apocrypha.

Wow, yeah i didn't know that.
I don't know any third eye blind songs off the top of my head, but i know they are played all the time on the radio, well kudos to him for being versatile and staying in the game.
Wonder if he whips out any old school weedly at their shows, lol.

I didn't know this cd was coming out, its pretty disapointing I like his old stuff a lot more, loudspeaker as pretty good, but music for speeding was weak and the title is very misleading and none of the new stuff is as good as dragons kiss or the cacophony stuff.
