When Fates started using BC Rich's on the Symmetry cd, I was really disappointed. The sound on No Exit was so much better, I think. Man, it'd be one hell of a score to find Aresti's old RR, wouldn't it ?!

The first Engine album "Monster: is pretty good. They went comepletely gay on "Superholic" with trendrap-nu crap..

Redemption is awesome The just put out their third..my favorite Fates cd ? I'd say its a tie between Awaken the Guardian and No Exit.
The first Engine album "Monster" is pretty cool. But they jumped on the trendmill with Nu Rap BS on "Superholic"..and that blew wad.

Redemption is a different story..awesome porogressive metal. That is more along the lines of Dream Theater and Symphony X. All three Redemption releases are good!

No Exit is my fave FW too..

That , of course, may lead to a Frank Aresti sig paintjob on my RR.
Now, that would kick ass! The CD also has the Quietus demo sent to Ray for his audition. And it's got two Ivory Gate Of Dreams outtakes... one was an instrumental and sounds very "Maiden-ish" so they decided not to use it, and the other had no lyrics written and they just decided to abandon that for some reason.

Fates Warning is one of my favorite bands..I met Jim, Frank and Ray when they opened for Dream Theater/Queensryche in Tulsa a couple of years back..It was kinda funny..I saw Frank Aresti and yelled his name and he came over and asked me "You know who I am?"..I said "Shit man, I've been a fan of fates for years" and proceeded to make an ass out of myself and talk 1,000 miles an hour..he was probably happy to get away from me..but they were cool as hell..

                  Best thread resurrection ever.

If anyone ever wants to know what a good reason for resurrecting a years old thread is, this is a shining example.

Damn thats pretty cool that Frank's guitar is up for sale. I've always been a huge fan of Fates and now Redemption.

Speaking of Redemption they have a teaser video with song samples up on their site and the new cd comes out on the 6th.

Redemption is a high-octane progressive metal band combining heaviness, complexity and irresistible melody with thought-provoking, emotional lyrics.

They also put out a live dvd not too long ago which is excellent aswell.
