      That was pretty cool. Who was the drummer? It almost looked like a young Mike Portnoy.

        that's session ace Rick Marotta (known mostly for his playing in Steely Dan), his brother Jerry is another monster drummer who has played with Tony Levin for a long time (in Peter Gabriel's and Tony's solo band)

                  As much as I like the early VH stuff I always wondered why he never surrounded himself with better musicians after Dave bailed. And yeah the keyboard sound is lame but Hammer is a f-ing monster as well.

                    No doubt. Hammer is a great keyboardist. And I'm sure at the time that tone was the shit. It just didn't age well.

                    No surprise, a lot of stuff from that time didn't age well.
