    My Vote Goes For:

    Any New/current/young Metal Band

Too Much Krank And Esp Combos

    Modern Tone Sucks Balls

In Fact Tone Since The Ealry 90s Sucks With A Few Exceptions

    I don't like Satch's and Rhoads' tones.

Zakk Wylde's overcompressed tone, too, bugs me a bit.

The Satch comments are a bit unfair, at least as far as SWTA goes. Some of those solos were in fact ice pick harsh...but I think that's what he was going for (I mean one song was called "Ice 9" for crying out loud). On "Always With You, Always With Me", he had a beautiful, expressive tone. "Crushing Day" had a killer scooped crunchy rhythm tone that I often try to imitate.

Jesus...everyone is naming my hero's! Satch, Sheehan, etc.. for me
it's Poison'a CC. DeVille.. ok, but not great. Also except for Bruce Kulick
, Ace's tone sucked too! And while i am impressed with his chops, and
phrasing... Richie Sambora...bores me with his tone.

???????? The tone on back for the attack was pretty much as good as it gets. So was the playing. Satch? Surfing may have kinda thin tone, but every time ive seen him live its been good.

+1 There are far too many to mention but I just heard Surfin with the Alien on the way home from work yesterday and thought to myself that tone sucks more than I remember it

    Calm down?

It's RHODES, not RHOADS, dammit! :ROTF:

I think Dimebag's solo tone was pretty average.

About Randy Rhoads... I've always thought his tone sucked as well... but then I finally found the Tribute album. If the Marshall RR head sounds like this, wow. It's strong, powerful and awesome sounding!

    Randy Rhoads
Jim Matheos has had some horrible tones
Joe Satriani (but sometimes it has been pretty good too)
