I think you'll find that most of the members out here will strongly disagree with you on this.

As others have said, Michael Wagener or Max Norman are great producers. Maybe I don't know whatall Ted Templeman did other than early Van Halen but I don't think he did much at all on those CD's. Ted used to always laugh and say Van Halen was the easiest band to record ever, just stick a few mics in there and record like live.

And to you Mr. Denton, you have proved who is dumb.

How is Bob ROck a genius? Give us some examples of how he actually made an album better than it would have been without him.

He helped (yeah, he didn't do it ALL himself but he wasn't enough of a man to tell them there was a problem) Metallica, and he totally fucked up what had been a good melodic metal band in Skid Row, making them sound like some bastardized version of his Metallica.
                Fuck Bob Rock.

Sneap's great, but I always preferred Martin Walkyier.
                  Skyclad rocked!

MartinBarre how many albums you actually have heard by Bob... 2..3 or maybe even 4?

Andy Sneap does a decent job... but to me his albums sound painfully boring... too similar to each other... and in my book he's more of an sound engineer than a producer.... I mean what production???? he records and mixes... a producer does way more than that.... and he only does one type of music

After seeing Vince Neil shananaaana his way through pretty much every other lyric live, I can't say I will ever buy another Crüe record. He's garbage.

I didn't have a bad thing to say about Bob rock until I heard the snare sound on St. Anger. What the hell happened there?! I don't care how live and raw they wanted to do a record, that thing is offensive. From what I could tell from that trainwreck of a movie, Rock was acting as main engineer - that doesn't speak well for his technical expertise, or his ear for sounds. Sometimes a producer is only as good as his engineers.
