  • Adrian Smith's 1986 Jackson

Does anyone have any details or info on Adrian Smith's white Jackson circa-1986? I've included a video with some good shots of it.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

    (good shots at 3:30-)

    Thanks

Gibson Les Paul Standard (ebony) '03

They used GK to record Seventh Son, and I think for the tour as well. Not sure about Somewhere in Time though...

The guitar in the video is Adrian's guitar synth Jackson - I'm pretty sure that there are a fair few pics of it around if you search on photobucket or FlickR, but here's one to get you started:

Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I remember hating Maiden for using guitar synths. Heh, things change eh? Adrian's Jacksons are killer.

It was, some of the time. Steve's bass-tech played keyboards on the Seventh Son tour and still does when required.

Didn't an organist come on as part of the set dressed in a phantom of the opera costume. Or did I dream that, fucking hell 1988 is such a long time ago?

That was the Maiden England video. Still the best vid they did IMO.

they're musicians right? I thought it was awesome and added to their sound.

Yeah, gotta love that white Jackson. I'm not really that into Strat-heads personally but this one does a lot for me (kinda reminds me a little of Sambora's Kramer in the 80's, even though it wasn't a Strat-head).

Though, if you don't mind me being honest, I'd much prefer this one:

And gave that Jackson one helluva beating!

I just downloaded Lion's "Fatal Attraction". Great tone on that album!

If you like that era of Doug's playing, you'll probably like Hurricane's "Slave to the Thrill" if you haven't already heard it. Here's a link to the big single from that disc: Next to You

Unfortunately, the actual video is no longer there but you can still hear the music.
