    Sounds great!

Heard a couple of these songs about two weeks ago. Wasn't impressed.
As usual the fanboys on their official forum are saying this is the best thing since Hysteria and all that crap. Some of them are even trying to claim it's as heavy as High N Dry.
    Pfft.

Not heavy, and nowhere close to Hysteria, or even Adrenalize. Sounds like another poor pop-rock effort to me. I gave up on them after "X" and then the piss poor "Yeah", but I must admit I had some hopes for this new album. I should have known they'd blow it again.
I just hope they can still rock live when I see them in Glasgow, or Whitesnake will be blowing them off the stage every night.

It does sound good. I must say that it sounds quite dated as well. I wonder if there is a market for this sound any more.

I remember how disappointed I was when Hysteria came out; it was so different from Pyromania; the riffs just weren't there. I think I would have rather this new album came out then in place of Hysteria; it seems to rock harder.

I agree with you, I thought it didn't sound like Def Lep but any of the myriad other bands doing this, or maybe they all sound like Def Lep?
I still can't decide if I should go and see them with Whitesnake in Manchester.
Fwopping, you know you want to!

Sounds good to me. Def Leppard was never heavy in my book, but they're all right, and the clips I've heard from this CD sound consistent with the sound they're known for.

Go was probably the only thing on there I liked. I'm kind of disapointed because I used to be a really big def leppard fan (everything until Slang) everything since thing I have pretty much disliked or all out hated (like slang)

There's stuff on here that could grow on me, just like that other bands load and reload albums, it's just for me the bar is set really high and this really doesn't come close to even the older stuff i didn't care for, though there really were not more then a couple older songs I didn't like (gods of war, don't shoot shotgun, uhm, actually I can't remember anything prior to Hysteria I didn't like so.. well) anyway.

I'm really not sure if it's that I don't think it's very good, or if my musical tastes have just moved on already from whatever it is they were trying for with this album. Hopefully there'll be people out there who enjoy it, i'm sure the band put a lot of work into it.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

+1. Hysteria was the last thing I bought of theirs. I think I was mostly awaiting the return of Rick Allen, but I was disappointed with the album as a whole. I mean, Hysteria wasn't bad, but it just wasn't as good and didn't have much of an impact on me as On Through The Night, High and Dry, and Pyromania which were all excellent albums.

Sounds like they're really trying hard to get the Mutt sound back, to the point that about 5 of the tracks sound like something Shania would do. Mmmmm... Shania... What were we talking about?

More crap from a band that's been horrible since Pyromania...

                    Meh.

Def Leppard = NEVER HEAVY. And this is coming from a huge Lep fan.

I thought they said NO BALLADS on this record. I don't mind what I've heard from the album preview linked above but I CANNOT STAND people turning against their original word. Doesn't matter that I actually really like a lot of Def Leppard's ballads, but if they say they're going to put out a record comprising strictly of rockin' tunes, then that is what I expect.

I loved Slang and this album sounds FAR BETTER than X. I never really got stuck on a particular era of Leppard because I think the thing that made them unique was not how heavy they were but rather their skills im making high gloss pop metal which is what this sounds like. Plus...I like the new sound that I hear on these clips!

Chalk me up as another who found it mediocre and mundane. Def Leppard lost my interest after Hysteria. Sure High n Dry and Pyromania are my favorites, but Hysteria was a solid album too.

I'm predominantly a death metal fan these days. But with that in mind, I still think "Hysteria" is one of the best album's ever recorded. It's pretty much perfect, like Appetite for Destruction, or Back In Black. I can't understand how a rock fan wouldn't enjoy "Gods Of War", that just seems bizarre to me. Turn that song up really loud and it's just a fucking blast.
Leppard certainly rocked on Hysteria. They still had classic riffs and knew how to fire out great solos.
Adrenalize was a slight step down but it still had the classic riffs, big choruses and Phil Collen played the solos to perfection.

This new album is just nowhere close to that stuff. It's a pile of crap to be honest. Joe sounds like he can now only sing in a low register, so every song's vocal track sounds the same; there are no real guitar pyrotechnics from what I can tell; there are no real riffs.

Pure shite. "Yeah, our new album is like AC/DC crossed with High N Dry". I believe that's what the band said about a year ago.

Oh fuck off, you lying bastards.

wow, they turned themselves into a shitty modern rock band!

I have no words except "WTF?"

I've allways been a Lepp fan, and I think this album sounds pretty good, not the heavy vintage sound I was hoping for but sounds like it was produced well. I'll buy it.
