We can agree to disagree on this. Racer X owned. Period. Find two guitar players that can do Scarified like they did - LIVE. Not today, and I personally think the Paul's guitar work with Mr. Big was nowhere near his stuff with Racer X or his solo stuff. But that's just me. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I just found Mr. Big, well, boring. I couldn't stand the singer though, so that probably had a lot to do with it.

And back to my post - I was pretty clear about my thoughts -- "Just a few "where are they now" types. Some didn't "go off the deep end", but they did totally fade into obscurity." I can tell you where they are too, but they are certainly not the force they had been "in the day".

Mr Big was not geared to be the shred fest that Racer X was. I like Mr Big, but not for the same reasons as Racer X, really.

I agree with that statement. I dig both, in fact "Nothing But Love" by Mr. Big was actually our wedding dance. At first, I thought of Racer X's "Dangerous Love", but, somehow, the Mr. Big song seemed more appropriate.

Not so current, but guys who were considered to be "the man" back in the day were Frank Marino and Pat Travers. Mahogany Rush were tight as hell and Marino was marketed as the second coming of Hendrix. Travers had quite a bit of success with his live album (Boom! Boom! (Out Go The Lights)) and Snortin' Whiskey. Where the hell have they gone?

Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth also come to mind come to think of it.....

and Rick Nielson hasn't been heard of in awhile either.

And what happened to Adrian Vandenberg???

Me too! TNT put out "My Religion" a couple years back, and I think that one is arguably one of their BEST. "All the Way to the Sun" was disappointing after that one, but was still a good album. I don't have the one with Tony Mills on it though. Don't know if I can do that.

Mike Tramp tried VERY hard to get Vito to go back out on the road, and it almost happened, but Vito backed out agaon. It was a c-hair away from happening.

I haven't heard any Sykes stuff since Blue Murder.

Chris is a Charter pilot (Leer jet certified, so he's not just some hack flying 2-seater Cessnas around). He is married and has kids, and obviously was looking for something a bit more stable than the music industry to support his family.

As a father, I can understand that. The man made his mark on the music scene, made his money, got out, and has a steady income. Sounds like a smart guy!

Frank Marino still tours regularly and still amazing.

Pat Travers is active, but I don't know how much so.

Uli is still recording music and has been touring more in the last few years.

Adrian Vandenberg suffered some kind of injury to his arm and no longer plays, unfortunately. I believe the same is true of Vito Bratta.

Wasn't it Pat Travers who was banned from touring the US for a few years do to drugs or something?
