I'm a late starter too. Couldn't afford to see them in the 80s, and then in the 90s when I finally could, they stopped coming down here.

So when they announced they were finally playing in Australia for the first time in 15 years, there was no way I was going to miss it. They put on a great show last year too.

Adrian is still one of my all time favourite guitarists, his playing was tight, and his tone was great, and he was playing Charvels all night, and he's just so damn cool.

I'm going to the 6/17 show in Camden, NJ. Can't wait. I usually go every year. Last year was weird because they did their latest album start to finish. I hadn't gotten it yet and didn't know any of the songs. That was ballsy. A lot of people were complaining about not hearing their hits, but they sounded great.

I was at the Camden Ozzfest show and they really did out perform Sabbath (or was it just Ozzy? whatever). And I'm a big Ozzy/Sabbath fan.

Anyway, can't wait to see Maiden and EDDIE again!

        UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen Anthrax a few times, and they've always been great. The only time I saw Iron Maiden, back in the early '90s (No Prayer For The Dying tour), Anthrax also opened.

Anthrax have been great when I've seen them (last time was before Motorhead about 4 years ago), but this is their first tour with the new singer. Make of that what you will....

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed that Bush isn't singing with Anthrax anymore. But now I can see him with Armored Saint at Rocklahoma, so I guess it's OK.

Caught Iron Maiden over @ Concord. Steve Harris's daughter opened up. Her music sucked but she was hot. Iron Maiden was just killer. The pit tickets were great )

I was going to put off writing this way back in March, when I went to go see Maiden perform in Toronto, but I'm toasted right now so I'm writing it anyway.

Everyone who knows me on this forum does not doubt that I practically worship Maiden. But I was kinda disappointed by the concert... I actually regret it. I waited practically all my metal-listening life to go see them for the first time, and it was somewhat anticlimactic.

Every review of the Toronto show I have read was been nothing but praise and amazement. To be fair, Maiden was flawless, and I probably chose the most appropriate tour to see them (Maiden's 80s setlist was ideal). The band were perfect, the pyro was face-melting, and the lights and sound were spectacular.

I was so happy that my brother and I scored general admission tickets on the floor. To be that close to our gods was going to be a thrill. Yet, seconds into the Churchill speech, everybody in the pit RUSHED the stage, which I was unprepared for. The crowd was NUTS for most of the show, and I couldn't even watch the band properly the entire night, nor shout along to every lyric like I wanted to, because I had to keep my guard up out of necessity.

I don't think I'm getting old either. I'm 24. Maiden just never struck me as a "moshing" live band. The crowd honestly ruined the show for me. I came to watch Maiden, not to watch out for a bunch of greasy, sweaty, belligerent ogres that are the stereotypical fat Maiden fanboys launching themselves chaotically in any direction gravity takes or doesn't happen to take them.

That, and I've been kinda getting away from standard heavy metal for a while out of boredom and repetition, but that's a different story.

Out of curiosity, for the people who have been to any of the recent shows, what time have they been starting (I mean Churchill's speech, when the REAL concert starts) and ending (pretty sure they're all 7pm start time) and have they had the one opener? I'm trying to make it to the show in Seattle, but unless they going a lot later than the earlier part of the tour, it isn't going to work.

I was at the Irvine show last night. Iron Maiden came on at about 9pm and played until 11:00pm. Only one word can describe what I witnessed "Epic". They were better then back in 84/85. They will be back with a new album and tour according to Bruce, so start saving your pennies kid's!

I saw them and Irvine, and I would agree, Epic. I think it's the best show I've ever seen. They were much better than they were in the 80's.
And I have to say, Anthrax was great with the new lead singer. I expected to be disappointed, but I wasn't.
