Might as well get a thread started, CD should surface just any day now. Has anyone heard anything other than the SOLA song? All reports say this is a killer CD.

edit. Just got 6 songs.
Face Down in the Dirt - Heavy, kinda punkish, pretty decent, rocks pretty good.
Goin' Out Swingin' - Heavy but a little strange, not wild about the production, commercialized the chorus too much.
L.A.M.F. - Just noises and talking in the background, must be the intro to Saints of Los Angeles ???
Motherfucker - Heavy, decent, a little boring, not great, not bad.
Girls = Trouble - Pretty good tune, more traditional Crue. More what I expected.
Saints of Los Angeles - Rockin', you've heard it.
In all, a bit worried about the production. Did I read that Bob Rock was producing this one? I see another guys name listed out on the net as producing the guitar tracks on some guitar/amp simulation thing called Eleven.Last edited by guitarzan2; 06-11-2008, 11:03 PM.

I'm confused... I did a quick search on the net and couldn't find info who exactly is producing, mixing etc. the album.
A while ago many sources said that they entered the studio with Bob for the new album, now I hear James is involved... but not specified what he is actually doing."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

As far as the Digidesign Eleven goes... I was VERY impressed with some of the clips I've heard
I'm not a fan of digital and modeling amps at all because they don't have the same feel, nuances and dynamics the tube amps have.... but I have read that Eleven has, along with all the other tube amp characteristics like tube break-up etc. I don't usually buy that kind of promo... but I've heard a lot of praise from very credible sources. Haven't had the change to try it out myself because it's not out yet.
I can't blame James for using that stuff (he is a fan of new school gear and pro tools as opposed to Bob Rock who is a vintage gear nut) but I'm concerned if he could bring MC's vision to life and created the right vibe and song arrangements. Let's wait and see. He has done some pretty cool stuff."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I'm just reading The Dirt now, it's too funny.
these guys should be dead 5x over.
and I can't imagine how Mick can play on stage these days considering how old he is (he was like late 30's when he joined MC in 1981) and how his back is all fucked up with that deteriorating bone condition. he was in bad shape in 1988, shit what about now?the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Ok, I've listenned to it a few times now and have to say that you have to follow the story and evolution of the band and the sound.....if you listen to it from start to finish it paints a good picture. All in all a solid disc with some great hooks and a few filler songs, but I gotta say I LOVE "Just Another Psycho" I know there will be those to bash this disk, but doesn't that happen every time somebody puts something new out. I like this, it's been something music has been missing for a while now......Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

I bought the CD today and have listened to it a few times and I have to say I am impressed. I thinks it's classic Motley Crue. The production is good and they sound great. Really tight like always. Some pretty killer songs. I give it a thumbs up!!!!!!!
