Did you guys see them on Larry King Live last night? Jeez louise, Mick looks like he's got one foot in the grave. Not only did he look feeble, but he couldn't complete a sentence. Sad.

I got to hear some short 30 sec clips today of about 5 songs...3 i liked.
IMO Vince Neal sounds an octave higher than in years before?
Kinda goofy sounding imo. Why not let Nikki just write Every song?
He obviously has the writing skills... heck let him sing too!

the chorus to SOLA kicks ass, "we signed our life away." no shit.

so what happened after the book, after 2001? when did Tommy re-join the band? is this the first thing they've done since he quit in like 1999?

the other thing is how huge Tommy's bass drum is, it's the biggest one I've ever seen by far, you can hardly see him behind the fucking thing. hilarious!

I tip my hat to that man. At Winter NAMM last year he came for an hour to sign autographs at the Marshall booth. He went for over two hours I think to make sure every that was in line got an autograph. His 'handlers' wanted to get him out of there. He stayed for the fans and didn't have to. He had no business being there from what I could see in the first place. He looked awful.

I totally don't know how Mick does it these days. the condition he has with his spine is majorly serious, and he's all kinds of fucked up physically. but still, he rips it up on the guitar, even though he can't move his body around much.

before I read the book I had no idea how bad off he was medically. more power to that guy I say.

and, from the Larry King clips I saw, he expressed himself pretty well there. I didn't see him not being able to speak in those group interviews.

did any of you guys catch the documentary that vh1 classic did about the whole reunion thing? mick did a fair amount of talking about his situation and where he was in life, and the amount of determination that he displays is nothing short of inspiring. from what they were saying, mick was told that he was going to die very, very soon unless he was hospitalized. he was under 100 pounds and was in dire need of a hip replacement.

so the dude gets his hip replaced and was at a photo shoot about a week after.

nothing but respect for the man.

Yeah, I saw that documentary a few months back. Mick is the man. BTW, I just caught the Crue on Letterman doing their single. Mick's tone and playing was kick ass!, as usual. And Vince actually sang most the words!

                        My first impression...

                        this album rocks!

It's not perfect but it's good! A real rock album.

Loud guitars, loud drums, bounding bass, cool grooves, good riffs, plenty of hooks. This is something that today's music is missing... a real rock'n'roll.

Oh and Mick is absolutley great on this one. The guitar sounds kicks ass too... that new software seems to be pretty amazing.

My fav song is "The Animal in Me." And "Down at the Whisky" brings back a lot of 80s memories.

I really dig the album. I do find that Mick is sometimes drowned in a sea of wahwah and general background noise/effects and is kinda overshadowed by the massive bass sound. The guitars don't really kick me in the face like say the 94 album which had an incredible guitar sound. Actually incredible sound overall.

Still this album kicks and I'm really happy that I'm not listening to it thinking they could have done this or that better or changed this or not done that. It's by far a much stronger album than I anticipated. And cheesy lyrics, c'mon it wouldn't be the Crue without a bit of cheese
