I picked up the Greatest Hits CD/DVD Megadeth put out a few years back when I was in Spain. Don't know if anyone else got it, apparently the import was the only one with the DVD included. The DVD it came with had a lot of live performances, and Marty was nowhere to be found in the mix, all you heard during his solos was rhythm. Of course, when the time came for Dave to solo, there was a dramatic increase in volume.
Marty must have had a good chuckle when TWNAH hit the shelves. Nothing like a rat a tat tat snare drum and a trumpet solo in "Silentscorn" to scream metal!
I loved that album and thought Al Pitrelli was great. I didn't really miss Marty.

Me too. I thought Pitrelli's sense of structure and melody was quite similar to Marty's, although Pitrelli's solos appear to more 'straight' and consistent with the rhythm (perhaps due to his classical influence).
I'd like to see Marty Friedman and Ritchie Kotzen make chick/dance music together.
