I liked his guitar playing, no problems there for me. The vocals unfortunately on many of these newer acts are quite annoying because in effect they aren't truly singing. The guy's guitar playing rips though

Muhammad is a great player with a lot of good chops, you cannot take that away from him. In terms of his rhythm abilities, Necro's is more technical than Nevermore's, and he probably has Loomis beat in terms of Technical Rhythm.
Lead, I think Loomis takes the lead on tone, phrasing, licks, and a few other things.
Oh...and..Don't hate on Cannibal Corpse, they make great lounge music.

In all disputes about Extreme metal, it's always "the singer sucks" the lyrics are stupid, blah blah, well, the singer, is NOT a singer, he's a vocalist, the lyrics, i don't care, i dont listen to lyrics or care about them, never did. Death Metal Vocals Sound Great With the Music, it fits and Calls for something extreme, Bruce Dickinson singing over Canibal Corpse or Suffocation would Suck.

I don't pay attention to song titles, or names of guys in the band or what their birthdays are, , i don't care, if it rocks my ass, then i like it.
Maiden?
I always prefered Paul Di'anno anyway and Iron Maiden from that era, i don't even listened to the later stuff anymore. It's Old and Boring, anymore. Great, Classic? Yes, don't need to hear it anymore.

Actually, I think there's quite a few death metal singers/vocalists who can really sing normal and have a very good voice, but they just choose not to. Ever listen to Chuck Billy from Testament? He's the best death metal vocalist in a non death metal band. Chuck started out singing like Don Dokken and others from the '80s hair band scene, but he now prefers the gruffer style for the most part.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.Comment
