In no order:
Twisted Sister
W.A.S.P.
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Motley Crue
Dio
Stryper
Van Halen
Scorpions
Y&T
I did not care for Rhoads/Ozzy in the beginning - I was a Sabbath fan, and Rhoads sounded nothing like Iommi
Didn't like the "Hair" bands that came after Crue like Warrant, Poison, Nelson, etc etc. Too girly.
Didn't get into thrash until the late 80s - sounded too much like Speed Punk - all noise with no substance. Plenty of screaming without saying anything. No melody.
