nah, this one is much more like the white Jackson strats he had during Somewhere in Time. those were in fact the first strat-shaped guitars H played in IM if I recall correctly, as before the white Jacksons he played mainly the Ibby Destroyer, LP Goldtop, and that blue quilt explorer looking thing (Ladio?).
he only went to the floyded strats after he came back into Maiden in the 90's, not sure why, but he never played a classic Fender strat before he returned to the band.
if anyone can prove me wrong on this, I'll buy the next round.
huge IM fan here, and H is one my top 5 players for sure. goddamn that guy has the most recognizable in-your-face amazing lead tone ever.
H has been using that strat pretty much since he left maiden, but skorb is talking about during his tenure with maiden. it's splitting hairs, frankly....when i made MY comment i was considering the time since he rejoined maiden, because obviously every maiden fan knows he didn't play the fender floyd rose strat during hid first run in the band, but whatever....it is splitting hairs!!!
i just hope he gets his new jackson back and that it does become a sig model we can buy!!!
GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!
I hate the fact that they don't film H during his solo in that song.
I'm sure they filmed everyone individually, but AFAIK the band decides who gets "airtime" in each clip when it's edited. Adrian may have specifically stated he didn't want his solo for that song shown (to keep people from learning it? maybe he's self-conscious?), or maybe he was simply screwed by the rest of the band?
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

Or whoever put it together is even worse at that than Steve Harris. :ROTF:

I personally see it as a general statement on his behalf though. But , he'll have to tell us what he meant.

yes I was referring to his time in IM. and I'm still right about that. but when I get over to Sweden you're damn straight I'll buy!
I did not bother to follow or remember the guitars he used playing w/ BD. of course I like that stuff too, most of it. H took a much darker tone on those two cd's than the razor sharp distortion tone he had on the 80's IM albums.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Probably. ^^ I'm gonna have a look in the Live After Death booklet, but yeah, I think he mostly used Goldtop for the first two (well, one and a half), Destroyer for the Number of the Beast tour, I think he used Dean ML's aswell on World Piece tour, then he brought in Lado's aswell for the World Slavery tour, and then he used some Jackson Strat's aswell during the last two.
I just noticed it a few months back watching the Live in Sao Paulo segment of the Bruce Dickinson Anthology Dvd's. It seemed kinda odd to me that he'd use a Fender on the last song, but it probably is the most Maiden-ish one and a KV would maybe not fit it (I dunno).
Plus they experimented a lot with tunings, which is cool but it sucks when you want to learn the songs.
A small tip; Look for the Best of Bruce Dickinson album or search Silver Wings on youtube. They added that plus a couple of others of un-released studiosongs to it and SW is probably his best song. Since it's about aviation, Bruce sings his fucking heart out on it.
